Ill Fitting Door Glass on 69 GTX

I'm going on memory alone here as my windows are out and I cant locate that particular adjuster. So if you will look at your door on the inside at the top there are 2 plugs. The one about an inch in diameter is for the mirror adjuster(it has the mirror adjuster or a plastic plug but not both DUH) and the little plug abut 1/4 inch diameter behind it. Pop the small plug out and there is an allen screw in there,it has a jamb nut of course. Loosen the jamb nut and turn the allen screw. It is probably rusted solid. And that adjuster may not have a thing in the world to do with your problem. But as memory serves that will solve your problem. Then again you may have something bent and cant adjust it out. Good luck and let me know how my memory is. LOL

thanx big block. yea i just finished installing all the glass in my 70rr and had to do a lot of research to get them back together.the area you are talking about is a slot type bracket that the rear of the vent window frame sits in and the allen screw goes through the uppr door frame ( 1/4 inch hole) and through the first side of the door tab then the vent window frame tab then the 2nd door tab and then a nut that sits onthe 2nd door tab.the nut is strange looking ,its about an 1 1/2 inch wide and 1/2 inch tall. i thouht it just clamped on the vent window taband held it in place after the vent frame was set. you might be right i might loosen it and see if that helps. the 70 plymouth manual was not alot of help in re-assembling my car, since i did not take it apart, not sure about the jam nut. maybe some one will chime in on door glass and vent window adjustment

After further looking I found that I am wrong. But you may try one more thing. In the jamb between the hinges is another adjustment spot. 2 nuts allow inboard or outboard adjustment. Be advised that these normally break off when you try to loosen them. Not a hard fix but annoying to say the least.

wow, I guess I am super lucky then with our GTX vert as they came right off. Of course, they were still the original black oxide finish on it too so it really never got exposed to bad weather it seems.

if your talking about the 3 bolts with nuts at the front of the door they secure a brace that the front leg of the vent window frame bolts to.they them selves are not adjustments but the front leg of the vent window frame can be adjusted from inside the door.

there are two nuts with studs on the front, upper part of the door jamb which moves the vent window inward and outward.

Foggy memory bro.

Mine were coated with body color paint, but wrung right off when I tried to remove them. In hindsight I shoulda left em alone.

If they were covered in body color paint then that means that part was installed prior to the glass being put in. More than likely, the factory would have installed the trim and glass after the car was painted.
