I'm already sick of hearing about AI!!

When AI can figure out a way to wire houses, reroof, nail or screw together studs, mud drywall, jack up my beeper and adjust those drum brakes, and the 1000’d of other things, I might start to worry. Seems that most people are afraid of reality, despite watching reality shows for hours on end. Oh wait, is reality even real anymore?

Depends on the type of 'reality' shows one watches. My first X was watching and still is watching all the crime crap reality TV junk. She stayed glued to the tube when Ooooo J was doing his dumb crap. Can't stand that kind of TV let alone watching the ones doing the crap.

Aren`t they still just computers that need input from humans? They can`t really think for themselves so how can a computer be "intelligent"?

That's the scary part they start to think but bad information (lies) in equals bad information out... Right now AI would say the Southern Border is the most secure in the history of our Nation and Well you know....

Watch the original Terminator movie......seemed far fetched back then, not so much now! It won't take AI too long to figure out it doesn't need us!

Also, The Running Man, where they alter a video of the main character to make him seem to say something incriminating that he didn’t. Of course the media has been doing that for several years.

I was a corporate spin doctor. The process was in place before my time. Only thing that’s changed is technology makes it easier to dispense higher doses. So AI concerns me.

There is no reality on TV, sadly not even in sports, which I would equate to as real as it can get on television. The games are ok, the commentary, and the hoopla surrounding the games, especially the big games, are just too much. Shows like Graveyard Carz should be a Mopar lovers dream show, completely ruined by needless drama and bullshit from the clown host.

I like dogs. They’re not fake, and are Gods most honest creature, and a creature that can best convey that honesty to humans. They’re very intuitive, and live in a world that is very small, but to them it’s the whole world. I wish people were more like dogs, except for the butt sniffing of course

It reminds me of The Scorcerer's Apprentice.
It's very dangerous technology and could easily lead to the end of the whole mess.

It appears many of us are still looking at too small a picture. I may have said this in an earlier post - But AI will change the world in a far greater way than the internet has by at least a factor of a 100x. We are just citizens of the world and at this point it’s too early for the average guy to comprehend what this means. I’m just one and the same as most of you other average citizens. And even more so I have no ability to articulate what the future is going to look like or when that is going to be clearer to all of us. My money guy is not just your average citizen and the people he’s connected to and gleans from are those that are advanced enough to see the future and what AI and its impact is going to have over at least the next couple of decades. If you read any journals or even a little TV - You can already tell these are the early stages of public indoctrination and manipulation. Slowly but surely ”they’ll“ be feeding us a steady low fat, moderate carb diet to get us to think of the “virtues” of AI technologies and vaguely how great it‘s going to be for us all.

A lot of guys that have posted on this thread are suggesting they don’t like it, or “they” won’t be able to do this or that. Many are saying robot this or robot that. Why do so many think robots are the initial threat? Why do so many think that there’s no other way to accomplish this or that w/o a human armed with a hammer? (metaphorically speaking). I feel much of that kind of thinking dates many of us on this forum. And keep in mind “They” don’t give a **** about “us” - period. Who they’re working at are these alphabet generations - you know the younger sets that don’t give a **** about anything that doesn’t come with a screen, monitor or the ability to get what they want by getting it via some method that involves a screen. To at least partially emphasize a point - for the first time in the history of this once great nation - the alphabet sets are the largest voting base in the upcoming elections - Boomers are dying off and becoming largely irrelevant at a fairly rapid pace to everyone but our families and friends. Yes we still control by far the greatest proportions of personal wealth - guess who most of that wealth is going to in what is being labeled the greatest transfer of wealth the world has ever known? They‘ll write the rules and have the $$ to finance them. Sadly, I say with some pain and sorrow - our value proposition to this country may have largely run its course. The US is not like a lot of other less advanced countries that value their elders. We know and feel differently but that doesn’t matter really matter.

Do I like anything about any of the appearance of our future - Hell No! But I’m also a realist and what’s the choice for us beyond playing the hand we’re dealt? This is all rife with opportunity for more greed, more corruption and more control of our freedoms. Frankly there is not one institution in this country that I trust any longer. Are there well meaning good guys that money can’t buy? Are their businesses that have altruistic missions? I hope so - but at the same time those that are will be far out-numbered by the enemy that has a much different agenda than those white hats.

I love our country - I love our people - I don‘t love where we‘re going as witnessed by at minimum the last couple of decades. I only fear the worst is yet to come. I’ll use my time to expiration by closing off from it as much as I can for my personal/family/friend circle - and doing my best to enjoy my hard earned retirement, traveling as much as I can, enjoying hobbies, doing my very best to ensure my wife and a few others, mostly my wife, is taken care in every way I possibly can. But most importantly looking upwards to the Lord for the ultimate fulfillment of peace and eternal life with him. Without that future of hope I don’t know……

BTW - One last thing. As I was posting I also happen to be watching a documentary “The Smartest Guys in the Room” the drama of the Enron meltdown.…. It seemed kind of apropo and put me in a mood…

God Bless All - And remembering the reason for the season - A very Merry Christmas to you and your families..
