I'll add that my 71 Charger R/T had the same "problem", although the rear bumper and shape of the sheetmetal was not as "fat" looking as the Satellites look, if I'm not mistaken the rear window of the 71 Charger has a similar shape to the Satellite, and the wider bottom of the rear window adds to that "wide hips" look. I had 60 series wide tires on my Charger, but much wider tires would have looked a lot better for the same reasons.

Yeah I do, and I remember the guy driving it, THAT is the kind of DEWEY who drove in these " downhill" cars, even back in the day...…. Claim was they got better gas mileage going " downhill" all the time...…
 
No...not this one! SO MUCH potential, but picture how MUCH BETTER it would look with those tires and wheels UNDER and IN those rear fenderwells! Too much rake too....JMO
