Just pulled my harland sharp roller rockers out and bolted them down. I noticed something a little strange.

There is a pretty significant imperfection in the left-most rocker. Should I be worried about this?

Are you talking about the tip above the roller? Without seeing more of it behind the roller it would probably be alright - BUT - since they are new and you paid good money for them I would return it and have them send you a new one. No sense in taking chances and damaging your motor.

You must mean the gouge above the roller? Hard to tell by the pic but if it's what I think it is I wouldn't worry about it. My guess is that area was bumped by an end mill.

By the way I seriously doubt those rockers are cast. Most likely they are sliced into sections from an aluminum extrusion then finish machined. In other words, billet.

As much as they charge for those parts, I would send it back for a replacement. It should be as good of quality as the others. May not ever be an issue, but why have that worry in the back of your mind when you don't have to. GET A NEW ONE.

I agree with getting it replaced. It may be fine but why take the chance ( unless you are in a rush and need to get it running right away).

Harland Sharp is one of the best manufacturers of Rocker Arms in America, their integrity and QC are outstanding. They will look after that issue in a heart beat with no questions asked. When you buy the best expect the best and they will deliever!
Call Randy Sr. or Jr. and they will make it right on the spot.

You should have called them the instant you saw this.

I sent them a photo of it, they said it's not going to compromise the structural integrity, but offered to replace it anyway. I took another look at it and decided to take their word for it.

I agree with Harland Sharp, probably won't change the integrity but, someday you may want to sell them and you'll will not get full value. Ask them to replace it and preserve the value of your investment.
