JUST GET A NEW RAD AND FORGET ABOUT IT. CHAMPION RADS ARE:
188 plus shipping on ebag for a 22"
26" are around 230 on ebag

You can solder it yourself with a map gas torch, but I recommend you know something about soldering or find someone who does.

Some tips to ensure a successful repair: Clean, clean and clean. Oh, and did I mention clean? Wire brush the area and blow the coolant away from the inside of the joint. Use acid core solder or solid 60/40 or 50/50 with acid liquid or paste flux.

I have the same prob on my 69 RR. So I just fill it up to just below where the leak is when hot. Its just a tiny seep. Thats my temporary fix. Lol. But I plan to have the radiator cleaned, rodded out, and repaired this winter. Found a small town radiator shop will do it for $85!

If it's a small enough leak, black pepper in the radiator will stop it right up.

Take a peace of soap smack it with a hammer and put those pieces down in the radiator, yahh I laughed myself first time a friend did it but actually it worked.

not a whole soap just a 1/4

I had a piece of metal puncture the aluminum tank on bottom of my cars radiator and patched it with jb weld 2 years ago and its still dry as a bone.

Stop up the radiator?lol

Wow, soap? Black Pepper? Lol The things you learn on this Forum. But yea I believe it would work. I still want to get mine gone thru and rodded out. They take the top and bottom off, and run rods thru the tubes. Removes all the corrosion. Then solder it back together, check for leaks, and paint it black. All for $85! That helps alot when going uphill with a 12 to 1 motor on a hot summer afternoon!!

i heard of the black pepper trick. IT WORKS.....never heard of the soap trick tho.

Thanks Guys i will try one of the above.maybe a little of each..ha,ha.thanks all.God Bless Barry

SideNote....Black Pepper & Soap was also used years ago for fouled mouth children...(Not recommending Punishment)..... Still get a laugh see it from Christmas Story........
