Have a scientist take a look at it.
Just yankin ya bud, just look inside the pan, if it is relatively clean and not full of debris/metal it is probably fine.

I believe they have made transmission dynos.. where are they, no clue.

Transmission Dynamometer Uses CAN
Pull the pan and look at the fluid. If it is muddy/cruddy/heavy metal and the fluid smells burnt then rebuild it. If minimal metal sparkles and the fluid smells sweet then it's probably fine to run. If so ensure the bands are intact and not flopping around.
