I've been overhauled

I caught something there, mostly a bad hangover. Memory is a little fuzzy.

Now tell me honestly, that Jersey Devil thing is just a myth.
Right?

if you're familiar with the Winslow Motor Lodge, because you've driven past it for years on your way "down the shore"..........

you might be a "shoobie" :poke:

@moparwacko the truth or myth of the Jersey Devil is NOT to be discussed/written about. NOTHING HERE TO SEE OR DISCUSS.

JD is a PARTY ANIMAL for sure

Back in the day maybe, riding in the rear of the parents Country Squire station wagon. They thought that was a major vacation. We went to Cape May several years ago and met the worst campground owners ever. They were dog poop nazis, made us carry our dog to and from the poop arena, and watched us the entire time. I guess we are kind of shady.
We've cross country camped in every state but Nebraska, Hawaii and Alaska and have never had an experience like that. Nothing at the shore really interests me anyway.

the hockey team "Jersey Devils" highjacked the legend. The team is FAR NORTH Jersey, and has zero relation to "our" SOUTH (east) Jersey Devil........ basically, thieving new yawkas

well..... since you asked......

dating back to at least the 60's, probably the 50's or more

shoobies come out of the Philly burbs and drive though South Jersey in the passing lane, on their way to the beach; they sit on the boardwalk and eat lunch packed in a shoebox so as not to spend money......... "shoobies"

first time I heard that, it came from a couple old timers in Somers Point; but not the only time I've heard it........it's more a "down the shore" thing

there's seems to be more than a couple of shoobies here :poke:

<<<<<< waits for someone to ask "what is a shoobie?"
A daytripper Sunburned Hillbilly at the shore with a lunchbox.
Close?
We did however buy cotton candy and caramel popcorn on the boardwalk.
We had to return to the safety of the Pa hills before dark, as my father said "that's when all the degenerates and hoodlums come out there"

no SALT WATER TAFFY???? WTH!!! SHOOBIE!!!

pretty sure I saw @moparwacko eating out of a shoe box at Carlisle
:rofl::rofl:
But I did get to retire, and us coal crackers call it a jelly bucket.
