1971 383, stock bottom end with fresh 452 heads milled .020. I had the plugs out so figured I’d do a compression test. These numbers look good to me but I’ve never tested cylinder pressures on a big block before so wanted to ask ya’lls advice:

factories usually say within 10% high to low is fine

10-15% variation max allowed I was always taught. Those numbers are right there.

how much run time on it? how thick are the head gaskets compressed? how much cam duration?

Just turned 60K miles, bone stock short block from 1971. .039 Cometic head gaskets. According to the service manual, the 383-300 stock cam has 260/268 degrees duration.
