Just Need To Vent Before I Get A Divorce

You said she stayed home and raised your kid for four years and think that was not work. If the two of you ever have another one you stay home for 4 years and raise it. And if you came home to a clean house with food on the table and your laundry done you should be down right ashamed of you self. As far as the car get over it far worse things can happen. Been married for 40 years.

Do what I did I bought what I wanted, and I told her to pick one she wanted. I'm restoring both cars (at the same time) she gets hers and I get mine . She takes care of cleaning the cars I take care of service and repairs . Told her if she wrecks it that's how it will stay till she can pay the body shop for repairs easy as that .
I had a 1999 trans am ws6 t top ls1 car a few years back it was sweet prity fast drove good . (It was a toy) so we shared it she took it to work one day and I received a call from a police officer friend asking me if I knew what my car was doing ???? I said is it wrecked? They said no she's burning the tires off of it and getting sideways around turns . What do you want use to do . I told them to pull her over and maker think she's going to jail . Ever since that she has never burned out agen . So just get her a car show her a few (little cheap ones) and let her pick one
Like a fiat spider or a kit car or something good luck

Oh yeah .

Woooooo saaaaaaaaaa

My wife is a retired cop. Not into old cars. She's a better driver than me. Taught me to 4 wheel drift...lol.

Stop complaining and just get her her own ride. Problem solved. There's no way in Hell my GF is driving my 2 Mopars!!

I don't have this problem. I'm 6'6" and my wife is 5", and I like legroom in my cars so I relocated the seat back two inches from stock and she can't drive the car even with the adjuster all the way forward. :)

But even so, this is a great example of why I quit fussing over these cars a long time ago. Worrying about every drop of rain, fingerprint, spec of dust, etc., really takes away from the pleasure of driving these cars to me.

Im missing something here. Is this guy talking about a hobby car or just there family car? If its his Mopar classic then yes i can agree,if not well all I can say is I'm glad its not my daughter

Steve I'm talking about my Roadrunner. Not the family car, it's a Kia, I could care less about what happens to that car.

I would get her, her own car but we don't have the room or the money for that matter. Either way, I didn't make a big deal out of it when I got home. I blew off all my steam at the gym and was done with it. Wife didn't bring up anything either so all is well. I did take some of your advice, I'm making her clean it this weekend in her bikini while I drink a beer and coach the two bucket method. LOL.

There you go problem solved. If you have somewhere private have her do it topless . That's always fun .

I wish I did Bb70 but she's only ever gone topless in Jamaica and that was before I upgraded the headlights. I thought she'd be less shy but she still is.

All my wife does with my car is ******* about how much money and time I spend on it... If she wanted anything to do with the car I would be thrilled and wadh, clean, wax... whatever after she drove it through a mud bog.. relax you got it good.

Count yourself as a lucky guy...young, married, kid, and YOU STILL OWN A MOPAR! When I was young, married, kids, the mopar went into storage because it fell to the bottom of the priority list.

You will learn with marriage experience that you need to wife-kid-proof your stuff and guard yourself against any issues your wife may have. It will quickly become 'your fault' for not pre-thinking stuff. A secret hidden kill switch will eliminate any further hassles.

We both work on the cars and each have a few that are "hers" and a few that are "his" but the bottom line comes down to respect. Your wife needs to have some when it comes to your time and hard work regardless of the subject of it. Also, knowingly taking something that you have a large investment of money and leaving it in jeopardy in a crowded parking lot is poor judgement on the part of your wife. "Act like you know something" is my message to her. Being defiant and disrespectful is not acceptable in any relationship, love or business.

Respect goes both ways, especially with younger couples...
Human nature showing off or maybe jealousy/envy,
stubbornness or out of spite or even mere arrogance/lack of respect sometimes...
Some will never get that simple fact...
IMO some are never going to figure that out too, will always have conflicts with "stuff"...
I'm pretty sure she has stuff, that she doesn't want you to touch too...
If she knows how you feel about a car or what ever & it's wear &/or care,
upkeep etc. what ever it is, than she should respect that too & it goes both ways...

I'd agree with a few others...
I'd get another hobby car, "allegedly" for her {wink wink},
then you can have 2 cars, spend more $$$ & drive hers too...

Good luck, you'll need it...

Invested incalculable hours on the '64. Invested ridiculous $$ on the '08. Invested my life with my wife....

they're just cars....

Grace is a virtue. :)

My car is a hand full and she won't even ride it let alone drive it. She also doesn't like the boat. Perfect marriage over 40 years.

I NEVER let my wife think it was hers in any way shape or forum!!! I let her and her friend drive it once...soon as she got out of site I could hear burning rubber.....she drove one other time...I was too drunk.
