Just picked up 1966 Belvedere II

Thanks everyone for all your help. Figured out that it is a Big Block RB, not sure which one yet tho!! But now i have a new question, my starter has been sounding pretty bad, but today it went out!! So i know its a monster of a starter under there!! And i heard i can get a smaller starter, that's off of a Dodge Dakota 1987 or something that would bolt right up!! Anyone know about this, or if its another vehicle??

Many guys do it. They are about $70-80 with a lifetime warranty at O'reillys. Or you could pull one at the junk yard for like $10

So a lttle updade!! Decided to pull the Enigine and trans today!! I now can see the numbers on the Block, if anyone can get some info on it? 2536430-7
And also if anyone knows where i can get some afordable headers for this 1966 Belvedere, Dont think these ones r gonna cut it!! lol

Nice!!! Thanks man, the heads are getting re done, when i get them back ill post the casting numbers!!

very cool, i myself just picked up a 67 satellite, it has the lowley 273:( but i have a 440 6pack longblock in the garage so it too will be a 440 b body.

when installing the mini starter you may find the positive post a little close to the exhaust so a little creative engineering may be in order. i installed one on my 66 coronet with a 440 and hooker headers and had to shave the post down about 1/2" to clear. awsome starter though!!

Looking good, I think your right on the headers seeing better days... If you have a local Auto-Zone in your area you may want to check on a Haynes Manual for your car to see if it can help you. Its full of specs for various things, Diagrams, wiring, ect.. It was worth the 25 bucks i paid for mine.. Used it many a times.. Trouble shooting things. Thought id mention it.. Good luck!

Color?

I take it by the engine compartment you plan to paint the car Black?

Yup, just finished up with the front suspension rebuild, painted the engine bay black, motor and trans freshened up, hopefully drop in tomorrow, then rebuild the rear end. Then yes, im thinken Black!!

If you drove the car with out the linkage to the transmission pump you probably burned out the transmission, hope you didn't. I learned the hard way and it only took about a 1/2 mile.

Damn well lets hope i didn't ether, ill make sure that's correct!! Thanks Man!!

The linkage to the 'transmission pump' (front pump) is on the snout of the converter. Are you referring to the TV/TP rod? If you drove for a 1/2 mile and burned it up because no TV/TP rod, you had other issues with your mixer.
