I prefer pre 67 mopar b bodies with my preference being any 67 b body. That being said if I had any cuda on the planet that is an E BODY (not a body) then it is just like having a stack of cash to me.
Just venting my Humble Opinion

I've had bunches of E bodies years back,( mid 80's to bout '92) only had 1 or 2 that were really tight great driving cars. had 6-7 TA's and AAR's many B B's. sexy looking but, the better made cars to me were the early B cars and 66-7 cars. people love the sexy look of the E body, but................
I knew a guy in Ga years back, he had a perfect restored original 68 HEMI charger, BUT he loved his 383 66-7 chargers MORE !!!!!! we all have our own tastes.
glad none of my cars are worth much, so I don't have to fret over that subject!!!!

A "Original" car is considered a "Un-Restored or Survivor" car.
A Restored car is simply a survivor car that has had a restoration.
I have often believed the 71 cars are desirable in my opinion BUT many buyers will not look at one.
They seem to want the 70 Charger/ 70 Cuda'
I say, buy and build what you like.

And if they give you crap, tell them to: "Show me your Hemi cars"

You are correct. My car was a perfectly original car when it was restored. It is not now however a Survivor. I really don't care about values because mine is not for sale. I agree with many, I love 66-67 B Bodies.

With regards to the OP. I can't call my car a survivor because of a repaint. However, I do refer to it as a 80-90% survivor and will explain:
It has one repaint 25 years ago (because accident) but otherwise is completely original. Motor, trans and rear never out of car. Interior, glass, wiring, rad, original etc. Based on this, it's not a restoration but a repaint due to collision.
True survivor is another enchilada in terms of price!

I don't care about values per se. I am not selling nor do I need the money. I meant to express my own opinion of what "experts" say these two different cars are worth. I personally would not even want a 1970 Hemi Cuda, even if I could afford it! I think 66-67 B bodies are the best. As I said originally, JMHO

From 1984 until around 2000, my main driver car was a Camaro. First a 73, then a 76 model. I loved those cars for many reasons. I had them set up to handle quite well. The cars rattled a bit and were not very fast.
In 2000 when I bought the Charger, I wanted the car to surpass the Camaro in every way. The appearance of the 68-70 Charger is just opinion but I was in love with the Dodge styling since I first saw one. To date, I have owned and restored only ONE E body car, a 73 Challenger to which I slipped in a 440. Surely not a restoration per se, just a stripped out car that I put back together and painted. The Challenger in appearance was similar to the 70-81 Camaro and Firebird cars but it felt much different. The doors felt heavier. The dash seemed too high. The rearward visibility wasn't as good. The Challenger handled well but I didn't like the car as much. The Charger though....
To date, I have succeeded in making the Charger a better car than the Camaro ever was. This is possible due to better infotrmation available via magazines and the internet. (FBBO as well)
The E body values are totally based on rarity and desire. They are great looking cars that didn't sell that well when new. If todays buyers were around in 1970 and 71, the car may have lasted beyond 1974.
I love the looks of the 67-76 A body cars, but the 66-67 B body cars, even with similar boxy styling, just don't appeal to me. The 71-72 B body cars were a real downer after the 68-70 models. I know the market wanted a styling change but I really feel that the 71 and later cars were a mistake, style wise.
I am not that impressed with HEMI cars. They are cool for drag racing I suppose but since I am more into cornering and street fun, I'm satisfied with wedge engines.

It's a matter of personal opinion or taste. I find the seating position in the 66/67 B-cars to be more to my liking than the 68 - 70 B-bodies. It seems that the steering wheel is positioned a little lower or something. I also like that they are less commonly seen and I always thought the 67 GTX was especially striking back in the day. I like the Challengers better than the Barracudas due to their upgraded trim. The Barracuda interiors were kind of blah to me. But hey, they are popular and highly sought after so who can argue with that. They do have a nice exterior.

Yes I sold it over a year ago for money! I was sorry as soon as it was gone. Last month I had the chance to get it back. I did not have to think twice. It is back in the garage and will not be sold again.

And after just seeing your post about no one on this board being "interested" in a concours winning 'restored survivor' (whatever that means), it seems you're now willing to let it go a mere few months later for only $150,000.
Hmmmmm... intriguing.
Something makes me think there's more to your stories skyman.

Other than the door panel sculpting, I believe there isn't much of anything different between a `cuda and Challenger interior.

I've had way more E body cars than B's but my first car was a 66 Belvedere and have two now with one being in my possession for 27 years. Yes, the E cars seats sit lower and I didn't like that and raising them just an inch made a huge difference. There's several things I like between them but I liked the Cudas better than the Challengers. Maybe it's just the 2" difference in the wheel bases on them that made the difference. Had a 71 340 Cuda and a 72 340 Challenger and besides the power difference, the two cars were like night and day and of all the E cars I've had, I miss the 71 the most. Thing is, I could drive my 66 2dr post Belvedere just about anywhere without worrying about it and I couldn't do that with the E cars.
