In stalling a Firecore dist and coil on my 66 (no orange box or ballast resistor) and the coil must have a constant 12v while running, what keyed source can I use to power it? Some have said go off the radio splice but would that be enough to power the coil or would it interfere with sound? The brown wire was used on the old GM module/blaster coil+ I switched from and only powers at start, any suggestions on a good keyed source? Also do I need a fuse on the new wire and if so what amp, thanks

The same keyed source that is already there, you just jump the existing ballast connections together, or better yet make a dummy ballast so it looks factory.

Like dadsbee said, just make a jumper wire for the ballast. Use piggybacks for the extra terminal.

That wire is going to the external voltage regulator. The man at fire core told me do not use that wire on the coil or it will burn up the internal regulator on the RTR. Is there any other wire that I can use that key from the fuse box etc.

So how did it run wired like that?
That wire is going to the external voltage regulator.
That wire is the factory ignition circuit. And yes, it also feeds the VR.

The guy who owns Firecore is a Mopar guy, why not ask him where to take that "keyed 12v" from.

12 volts is 12 volts, doesn't matter, or, you actually want a ballast resister.

Sorry to take so long to respond but it ran great with the module, had to switch to a Mallory module though, burned the GM one

Well I'm at a loss.. how did it work before when it only got B+ in crank position.
