late model hemi into early b bodies

The VA confirmed that I have a catarac, and now I get to see specialists in San Francisco due the the major injury suffered to my eye. They are gonna remove the lens and put another one in, but I'll have a team of specialists standing by incase things go south. The good news is I got a new set of seat covers for my bucket seats on ebay for cheap, too bad the rear were for a vert..oh well, cant get everything in life.

Best of luck with the surgery. I will be heading to CA. around the end of the month, how far are you from Oceanside CA.?

Thanks Joe Nopar, I look forward to "seeing" again. It's been damn near 20 years since the injury happened in Sinai, Egypt.

Tin, I'm about 4 to 5 hours north of Oceanside, nice place to surf!!!

I managed to get the fenders redone, and then got the tops of the hood, scoop, and trunk lid done also. They turned out much, much better. I managed to get a few runs on one fender, and had to pick out a fly on the hood. I'm gonna toot my horn , this paint job is absolutely perfect.....when you look at it at night!!!! lmfao!!! I decided that when I shoot the car again, if the roof gets any runs or imperfections, it will get a black vinyl top. I'll post pics of what I did on Monday.

Best of luck on the surgury Zack. When is it all goin'down?

Just found out today they are gonna slice my eye Oct. 25. They wanted to do it tomorrow, but I need more tie to make arrangements for the rugrats. I'm stoked that I will see again, and probably want to kick the guys a$$ that painted my car, lol!!!

Speaking of which I'll post some pics......

And here they are....I just took these, and it's dark outside.

Must of missed it what scoop were you going with? Looks like the perfect size cut out for a 3barrel intake lol

The hole is for a 8-71 BDS blower, lol. It's a max wedge scoop. With the engine installed I have jusr enough clearence for the intake. Hopefully the air going across it will help cool the intake charge ever so slightly.

Got the scoop mounted today and the instrument panel painted. Also picked up a steering column cover for 5 bucks at the Mopar show in Madera yesterday, and wouldn't you know it, I found my original in a box sitting on the shelf. I guess I have a spare now. Also my seat covers for the front buckets showed up on Friday, I tell you Legendary does some fine work, now I got to get some for the rear to match the front, I'll see them in Van Nuys at the end of the month so I will order them there.

Newly refurbished dash pad is on, gauges are next and then I'll post some pics.

Nice, That is always badass. Can't wait for the pictures.

I haven't had any time to do much on the car. I got my new door panels in from Legendary, friggin' nice, and roof rail seals will be in tomorrow. Everytime I look at the paint job I did, I just want to vomit and start over. So my dad made a sugesstion, see what the guy who did his Challenger would charge to shoot the paint, so I got off work early today and stopped by his shop. This is the same guy that did my passenger fender, so I asked the 64,000 dollar question, his reply was 6 hours at 55 an hour to shoot the car in my paint (single stage). He got the job, so next week we set up a time for me to bring him the car. This will give me time to re-block it for him and I'll have a paint job that will look good in the daytime, not just at night, lol! So I'm excited to get that going, it's a load off my mind.

I did learn how to do painting, so it's not a total waste of money and time. I did my best, but in the end, it really wasn't something that I would be proud of. I wouldn't change the outcome of the bad paint job, cause in the endI gained some experience and you gotta start somewhere.

Sounds like there's light at the end of the tunnel and with it comes a sense of relief.....good to hear 5.7.

I got to say it made my day knowing that I can show off the car in the daylight. I'm gonna budget for 8 hours and hopefully that will include panel aligning, if not, I got some friends that will help get it done.

Hey Zack
Just wanted to say I will be thinking about you on Monday. Best of luck with the surgury.

Thanks Darius, but the surgery got moved to late nov. and so the waiting game begins.

Almosr got her finished sanded this weekend, She goes for paint in about 2 weeks. I'm so look ing forward to dropping her off so I can take a break for a while. The panels should be laser straight after all the blocking that has been done, bit I'll find out after the paint is done, crossing fingers, toes and if I had both eyes, I would cross them to, lmao!!!

It's good to see you've managed to retain a sense of humor Zack, it'll all be over before you know it.

I'm sure it will be nice....
