Leaf spring shackle flip?

If I flip the front bracket that has the 4 bolts, will it raise or lower the rear of the car?
Im having a brain fart kinda day lol
 
It will lower the car just slightly. It will also raise the instant center sightly causing it to hit the tire harder if drag racing it.

It will lower the rear of the car..... top of spring goes up, body goes down. HOWEVER, I don't recommend you do that UNLESS you plan on cutting/replacing/re-welding your leaf spring perches. It will throw your rear end pinion angle WAY off into a "nose up" position.

This is "basically" what super stock spring front hangers can do (they come with upper & lower holes). In the standard, lower hole (stock position), the arch of the springs raises the *** end of the car way up. You can move the springs to the upper hole (just like flipping a stock front hanger) and the car comes back down to about the stock ride height in the back.....but the pinion angle is now way off & more than just shims can correct. Ask me how I know this.
 
Thank you gentlemen. I will leave it as it is then I dont want to get into cutting the perches off. Maybe get some shims and do it that way if I want to proceed.
 
Just removed a set of front perches that I made years ago to try and raise rear 1" or so. The bolt hole is 1" lower than stock. Was trying to get tire clearance for L60 x 15 tires. I can take a picture if you want?

of course i make a post and THEN find this post about front shackle position affecting pinion angle. I bought leaf spring shackles from ebay that have a 1.5" lowering option on the shackle with an upper set of holes. I did this Then had my ring and pinion done and it was vibrating bad on deceleration at highway speeds. Recently redid the ring and pinion again with a new yukon gearset and the vibration is still there in 4th on deceleration. of course now im learning about shackles affecting pinion angle

Measure the angle. If it's off shim the housing with tapered shims betwen the housing and spring. You can move the housing up or down quite a bit w/o ruining the pinion angle, if it was correct to start with. You may have the pinion down in front too much.

You can't flip the front bracket.
Bolt spacing is different top to bottom

They sell shims that can correct the pinion angle without cutting and welding.

would the front ride height affect the pinion angle?
 
Very little. Moving one end of the spring or the other 1" would only change the pinion angle about 1 degree.
