Lost an old racing friend

Dogs

sorry to hear about your friend. My condolences go out to you,his family, and his dogs. They also know he is gone but they remember.

Dogs, Being a die hard dog lover, That's actually how we met, one of my partners on a race car Rob, was living across the street from Mark {his new neighbor}, I had brought my dog Duke {a black lab} up to Rob's my racing partner & good friends house, to go hit some tennis balls with a bat in a school playground for his dog Hoss {lab & Rottwhiler mix} & my dog Duke, Mark being a dog person also, saw us & he asked is he could come along, we said "sure", he said "can he bring his dog", we said "sure", a little Boston terrier puppy {maybe 9 months old}, we kind of snickered, our dogs were very aggressive when playing ball, they grew up together playing, we thought the little dog wouldn't have a chance... To make a long story short that Boston terrier was fast as hell & our dogs were struggling to get the ball... Anyway he had several dogs usually rescue dogs mix breeds... We all became good friends even though he was 10+years younger {only 17, at that time, 26+ years ago} than Rob & I, we latter found out he worked in an engine building shop, was a head porter, raced Nascar West & was a bigtime car nut... The friendship was set in stone after that information.... Thanks for you condolences guys, it does help.... R.I.P. Mark, your friends family & the dogs all miss you...

I wanted to say Mark was a part of my success in racing, as mediocre as it was, but his skills on a work bench with a peanut grinder, dremel tool, the head porting abrasives that his wife Chris sold & working on the flow bench or ability to get the most out of my junk parts, {I was always on a tight budget} he was a great help, he would spend many hours helping me, for just beers & friendship... I was really struggling to break into the 7's at one time, before we started working together, after he cleaned up our heads & ports, we could run the number easily, he was my only head porter {a good friend still} from that point on... His family is doing pretty well, for the situation, I heard that, I guess he had a couple of great insurance policies, he was a good father & good provider, for his family, even after his death....

Sorry to hear about your friend, Bud.
