Low Profile Intake on 440 in 1966 Coronet

I have a 67 wagon w/440. Performer RPM with a Holley 3310-1[ 780 vac sec] carb. Filter assembly is a MP one. Fits under the hood with no issues. This filter unit won't work with an AVS/AFB unless you put a spacer between which will get you hood clearance issues. The base only works for center hung bowl Holley's due to its contour. There are low profile units that will fit the AFB/AVS and some others. You'll need to check around. The inner portion of the base, where it drops over the carb, looks like it was formed over a big bagel/doughnut. Big, dropped circle.

Let’s clear a few things up.

Here are the intake heights relative to the 178:

CH4B - +0.4”
Performer - +0.5”
HD. - +0.9”
Torker - +0.9”
6-Pack. - 1.4”
Indy 440-2D. - +1.6”
Perf. RPM. - +1.6”

They all clear the hood. You can also make all of these work with the factory air cleaner. The level of effort and creativity to make it work goes up considerably the taller the intake.
Great data, thanks for sharing!

I have used a lot of Isky FT cams, no failures.
Lifters: find some factory lifters & have them re-faced.
