Wipers addressed with zirk fitting mod. Man, don’t skip on this $10 gasket repair while torn down. Mine fell apart on removal and doing this with the Hvac in place I would think is close to impossible. Almost missed it.
Use a squeeze tube nipple as a funnel to push the gasket on. I just knocked the shoulder off.
Bold move at the goal today. Vented the hump for the inbound 5 speed. Measure twice, cut once. The template from SST pulls the measurement from the bellhousing rear face. I am not ready to drop the motor in, but am beyond ready to finish cutting inside and proceed with interior finishes. What to do? I installed the motor mounts on the block and mounted the bellhousing. Using squares, I pulled the numbers from k frame mount to bellhousing for each side. I build a wood frame to match and then went to the car using the frame to get the bellhousing face mark in the tunnel. Pulled the template instructions and cut away. Looks good, no idea if it’s right but it can ride until the tranny shows up,.
I indexed the bellhousing and was out of spec. I ordered the .007 offset dowels and had a hell of a time removing (1) of the old pins. Got the new pins on and the housing ended up at .00478”. Close enough.
One hood final painted.
SEM, Hot Rod Black. This is a great choice for a black hood. It is a 2k single stage paint. The scary part is that it calls for 16 hours dry time if not cooked.
