We got a couple balls like that for my girl, Mopar , too! Thats so she can chase balls in the yard in the dark too. Five or ten times during the day just isn't enough.
Here is my Bella! She is a rescue as well. Her name was "Larva" when we got her 'cause she was covered with maggots when found as a kitten. Here is Bella,A Rescue dog just over a year ago. (Ger.Shepard mix)

sorry to hear YY1. It really sucks. I think for mostly all non human companions, because they are so innocent, it is well ..... you know.We just lost one of our best friends last night.
Nougat (AKA Buff, Punk, and also "Trouble").
He was the poster child for "the size of the fight in the cat". 14 pounds but acted 25.
Very talkative, but never "meow" some were three or four syllables.
Did not show up for breakfast yesterday, then did not show up for dinner.
Found him in the Garage on my 66 Coronet not wanting to move.
Brought him in and was hard shallow breathing.
Went to emergency Vet at 10:30 pm. After almost 2 hours they said his blood sugar was over 500.
Would be $2500 to keep him in oxygen tent over night (after the $800 in work already done), then rush to daytime ER.
Then begin testing and treatment for three months then no guarantees even with 3 times daily monitor and house confinement.
He was a good cat.
Rest in peace, my friend.
The orange cat is his brother, Buddy. They were dinky when we got them. Not sure Buddy would make it but he did.
They are/were 10.
First pic is them flinging themselves in circles under the sofa. Third pic on bottom was last week.
