Hey guys,

I hope this is the right forum for this and if it isn't, please guide me in the right direction of where to post.

I am selling my "numbers matching" 1967 Plymouth GTX and have been getting a lot of inquiries regarding the actual numbers of the car. I've taken a few pictures and have looked up websites to try and decode the fender tag and build sheet. From what I can gather, it is a matching numbers car... I am attaching pictures below...

Are there other sites of numbers stamped that I would need to know?

unfortunately , you can not match any drivetrain to any pre 68 body. there is not a VIN stamped on the block or transmission.
this has been an on going thing where some believe if the date on the block is "close enough" to the build date of the vehicle , they consider it matching numbers , but the truth is it can not be definitively verified.

So, really the only thing I can verify is the VIN and buildsheet?

As wp29 said, close is as good as it gets. The closer it is, the more likely it is. Nine days is very close.it would be very unlikely for someone to stumble across an engine date so close to yours while fabricating your car. What are the numbers under the drip rail? I can't read them.
When looking at a GTX, I look at the bracket for the driver side exhaust pipe in front of the rear end to see if it looks original. I also crawl in the trunk and look for the weld marks for the brackets holding in the rear seat, as Only GTX and Sport satellite have them.
I know you are trying to sell, but it helps to know what others are looking for. One last thing, It is a pain, but if you remove the bottom seat, you should see no signs of a tab being welded to the body that holds the upper seat tight. They aren't there on a GTX/Sport Satellite. However, If you have owned the car for some time, documentation of previous owners is a big help.
67's are not well documented, but there are places that help tell the story, where only a really experienced GTX Guy would think to look. Another sneaky place to look, lie upside down in the trunk, and look for holes that have been welded shut along the Inside of the upper Quarters. Belvederes had a chrome moulding along the upper lines on the body. If you point these things out, The buyer will be hard pressed to say the car isn't original. Just trying to help, as you see I own one.
I hope that helps! And Cheers!

Thank you man, that helps a lot! I will see if I can post some of those pictures up of the additional sites you mentioned! I'll have to take a better picture of the drip rail as well...

I have another I'm restoring that is the exact same color as yours. It has been in my garage since 1996. I love that car. I admit right up front, my other is a 3-29-67 car, and the engine is a 4-30. Not matching, but on a 67' Nobody I know cares! I would only have to whisper: "I'm selling", and people would come. You have a great car, My favorite year!
A couple other things, all 67' GTX's had a 26" radiator opening. Sport Satellites, 318-383 had a 22", unless they had A/C. So a clone is easy to spot if the creep wasn't paying attention. That front radiator support assy is very difficult to change. Lastly, the Manifolds had to end in "974", and the trans 2801541. If anything is missing, they will look harder. It is always better to be more Informed than the Buyer. If I was closer, I would come visit the car.

I stand corrected, mine is TT1 medium copper metallic, but yours is still awesome!
