This was not uncommon as a trip to the Wheel store was the first thing done to these cars.... MOST muscle cars did not keep there " stock " wheels... There was no reason to spend money on a " throw away " item
I owned a 71 GTX, 426 hemi, 4 speed car, for 28 years that was factory Ordered, by the original owner, back in the day.
When i owned that car, i never talked with the original owner, but his son in law, back in the dinosaur days.
He told me when the order was placed at the dealership, he already has a set of 4 aftermarket wheels in the garage waiting to go on that car, when it was delivered to the dealership.
That's why the car came through with regular steel wheels, and dog dish hub caps on it.
Why spend extra money for Road wheels, or whatever was available as a option, when the steel wheels were going to come off the car, as soon as it was delivered.
Maybe something like that with the Daytona that is being discussed here, in this thread.
You like it with dog dish hub caps on it, or when i had it with Rallye Wheels?
But don't know what aftermarket wheels the original owner installed on the car.
