Got my Mega Block Today  wondering how much Horsepower could this thing take 1500HP ?? my goal is 1000HP

I know they can handle 1000 horse, not sure of limitation. I think @dvw has one. Did you get the one I looked at?

Mine makes around 900. Never had an issue. I'm going to swap in some new springs and check bearings after Christmas. Current has 185 passes since freshened. My bet is it'll go at least 400 with springs and maybe bearings. Even the lifters are looking good. Building an honest 1000hp on motor is going to be tough unless it's got Predator or Hemi heads. Doing one that is low maintenance, good luck. Now 1500 with a turbo, piece of cake, but not cheap. I'd bet 25K in parts. That being said 850 is more than will hook up anywhere on the street. It'll black track from a 50mph roll.

You always hear numbers being put on a block or a crank as a breaking point.
Would there be a difference if the motor is N/A making 1000 hp as opposed to a turbo motor making the same hp or is horsepower just horsepower reguardless?

WOW DVW that's a great looking Engine !! looks deceiving, have you heard anything on the 572-13 Indy heads ? and are they capable of big power like 1000 plus HP

A buddy just had a 540 built by Best Machine, similar specs but the changes being -13 head and Holley 950's. Dyno number was 965. Car isn't finished yet. I've raced against another engine from that dyno that made 909. It runs close to mine. New build, its been 9.19. Mines never been on a dyno. Just weight vs MPH for my assumed numbers. I run against a few cars in NMCA N/SS running Holleys, tunnel rams and a few with -13 heads. Most have dynoed over 900. So far mine is the quickest Mopar wedge.
