For Sale: Not Mine Might be a good deal for Charger fans

Looks like B5 in a terribly faded condition. Maybe it's a faded B5 repaint.

What's with the interior sides of both doors? Doors came off of a white car and then masked off for blue paint? Somebody with a '68 Charger will chime in.

The exterior side moulding is aftermarket and attached to the car with rivets.
I've had cars with that side trim, and it is usually glued on with double sided tape

I have that side trim on my '79 300 and it's attached with rivets. I wish the installer had used double sided tape.

It came from manufacturer with double sided tape already installed. Previous owner probably added rivets after it came loose. Or maybe there were some versions that used rivets.

My dad special ordered it on his new 1970 Valiant, it was double sided tape. Also had disc brakes, heavy duty suspension, and sure grip rear, those were my input. Our previous 1967 model had an aluminum molding that was anchored with plastic mounts inserted in factory drilled holes.

Because it's fun to see what was originally ordered on the car?
Are you saying if'in it's not an RT, it ain't worth driving?

not at all, I'll take it!...... in my opinion; if it's not an R/T, it's a blank slate for whatever someone wants it to be

Roof skin was like $800.- from AMD last I checked. Still, a big block with most of it's AC stuff intact. Not worth 30k, but maybe a good starter B body.

Were those a factory option? Man they really ruin the lines of the car.
If they were an option what was the actual name of them? Side belt molding?
I believe someone slapped those on it. Never seen those on any 68-70 charger.

they sold that crap in every auto parts store in the day....... some of it came on a roll

I fail to see where this car is worth $30,000
:p
Ebay had a rt charger with no *** end going for 30,he will get close to that number. Not from me but he will get close. A guy in NC just sells charger rollers and gets 20 plus on them.

That stuff was super popular then, as others said. The ones with the color-keyed vinyl (rubber) insert did appear in the option books. This from the 70 book. My 71 F8 Fury wagon had green side molding that matched.

100% Agree.. I've owned both, if fact currently own both... The numbers matching may be a better investment if that's your thing... I enjoy driving the cars and making them how I would have ordered them when new...

Green R/T is pretty much stock..
Red car started life as a /6 column shift auto... Currently a Edelbrock headed 340 & a TKO 5 spd.... More fun to drive & if I blow it up nothing gets hurt that can't be replaced...

That Charger is the perfect starting point for a fun driver..

I bought it new off the showroom floor. The dealer probably added the aftermarket moulding.

I tracked down the supplier awhile ago.
