Sorry for the re-post, started in the wrong area.

Anyway I have a misfire that feels like it's only on one cylinder and only occurs at 2000-2500 rpm. Verified all plugs are good and gapped properly. Some of what I've read elsewhere has me thinking that it may be the distributor or obviously a plug wire. Only reason I'm shying away from plug wire is because of it only occurring in a certain rev range. If I get past 2500 the issue clears and the same can be said if I'm below 2000...............any ideas?

Thats a tough one. Do you know which cylinder has the misfire? Could be in the distributor. Shafts can wear and rattle around causing issues. Best bet would be to find someone in the area with an oscilloscope. Although it may be easier to just replace everything than find that ancient device anywhere. Does it doing when driving, or will it do it in neutral/park and just running the rpm up?

use a vacuum gauge connected to the engine to locate the miss. With the engine running remove a plug wire one at a time (only one disconnected at a time). When the twitching on the meter stops that's the suspect cyl.
Hope this helps,
Good Luck!
