Anybody have any comments on the use of Mobile 1 oil Filter on a 440 engine. Is it worth the extra money. Also will the extra filtering effect oil flow at high RPM's Thanks
I've used the mobil one filters on my other cars and never had a problem, but I personally like the k&n ones a bit better. Used the k&n on my srt4 and spun it up to 7k rpm no problem same with mobil one. But the k&n has a wrench or socket at the end to help remove it.
I like the K&N filters too, but they are a bit too pricey and probably not necessary for normal street use. I would use K&N for a racing. I use NAPA Gold filters. They are made by WIX, are good quality and are reasonably priced. About once a year the local NAPA has a filter sale, so I stock up.
I've used the moblie1 for the break in peroid and have heard good things about K&N, but not sure where to purchase them. I'm just doing cruise nights, car shows and a sunday drive with the occasional 1/4 mile......
I like the Mobil 1 filters myself, but mostly because you can peel the sticker off and you are left with a nice plain black stock-is looking filter. I hate orange Fram filters...
Cut them open and see what you like from the inside. I used Frams many years ago and quit when I started cutting them open. A regular Fram absolutely sucks not to mention they are the one that's counterfeited the most. I use the Mobil 1, Wix, Napa Gold, Baldwin, Purolator. Amsoil also makes a good filter with their nano-fiber tech....
Unless you like pouring money down the drain, they arent worth it. The purolator Pure One filters are just about the best that you can get for the price. Fram functions, and is suitable for slant sixes and cavaliers.......otherwise stay away. I too liked WIX filters until i used one once and when i went to take it off, the filter media had swelled up inside, filling the cannister.. Purolator is the way to go, time tested......
Find the You Tube video where the guy buys all of the available filters and cuts them all open so you can see the inside. The FRAM had a giant gap between two of the pleats. Anyway, I currently have a WIX. I don't even know where to get those from. Who knows what I'll get next, but not FRAM! Or any cheap filter. How can FRAM sponsor NHRA when so many people dislike their filters?
