So since Plymouth 71 has directed me to a place for posting pics of my models being built.....We'll start off with a Non-Mopar car, as its being built to be a model of my Dads real car, a 1939 Chevy Business Coupe.
This veiw shows the motor, sadly, it will be changed as my Dad, (and his ways) changed the air cleaner to a K&N Scoop. AND me being his Son, Not allowing this to be, It has to be as close as I can get it to the real car!
A shot of the motor slightly different angle, just before I get into adding spark plug wires and the distributor to the motor.
Shot of the underside of the frame under the motor.
Again, underside of the frame, showing fuel tank and exhaust. I painted the fuel tank gloss to represent the gloss black epoxy coating my Dad used on the real car....
NOW we'll go off to the MOPAR models, these are mine! (I have to limit myself as I get a bit carried away at times) so.....
Doomsday Hemi. this was part of a AMT-Ertl model 1970 Dodge Super Bee Pro-Stock model I built as a young child, I still have the model, irtself, sadly tho, its in pieces so, I'm doing a bit of recycling with it. I am going to be using this motor, with a blower set up in a 1965 Dodge A-100 MONSTER TRUCK, named......you guessed it, "DoomZday" Painted Plum Crazy Purple, and Banan Yellow....Lettering will be "stacked yellow and purple to look as tho its vibrating.....Will look awesome when I'm done! This motor, having 2 blowers ought to be eye catching when all done!
Another shot of the Doomsday Hemi......
This next one is sort of special. It began life as a General Lee in diecast. I picked it up off a friend one time, about 15 years ago, at a yard sale they were having and Mike, (my friend) sold it to me for 50 cents. his sister took a fit on him and scratched the hell out of it, and I got it when it finally got to him and he said that it was so bad he stripped it down with HER fingernail polish remover and was going to "restore" it...NEVER happened when I got it it wasn't complete stripped of all paint so some of the orange was still on it and I too kit the rest of the way and then coated one shot of gray primer....Since that time, I've built 2 General Lee's so this one, at the time I was building the others (one I sold) the other is an original Warner Bros. model from 1981, that I still have completed when I was about 12 years old.
Anyway, this 1969 Charger R/T is getting something, a bit different....
a Max-Wedge, 426!!!!! EVERY 69 Charger, I seen or built has one of 2 motors in it, a 426 Hemi (most famous in these cars, OR the 440 Wedge. Come on people, Dodge offered more then just these 2 motors in this body style! (I nkow they didn't offer the 426 Max-Wedge in them, they ceased production in 1965 I do believe, BUT when I started this model, thats all I had to spare to go into this car! I think, it'll look GREAT when I'm done! I got a ways to go on the frame tho, it was NEVER ment to show all the under carriage, in the front end or a fully detailed motor, BUT the part of this as I seen I wanted to keep as close to original as I could BUT also repair the damages from me storing it and my friend Mike's Sister and what she done to it so.... Its comming along pretty well I must say in that order of things.
Home-made interior as the original one wasn't much more then a box, with a Dash and 2 bucket seats in it, nothing more! I'm fully detailing the interior, to be close to a Charger, not exact, I don't have the spare 69 Charger parts to make it exact!
THEN you have the Diecast body....
Needless to say, its NOT of General Lee paint! I'm making it Panther Pink, with white trim, deck stripe, and white hood blocks with all "blackened chrome" chrome trim parts. The interior will be a off white as well with Panther Pink trim. I'm also doing a white vinyl top on this one.
Then following that model, you have Rosco's Cop Car from The Dukes of Hazard....
Was trying a few things here that I'm NOT impressed with, the spark plug wires are gopne! I'm going to remove whats seen here and put on real detail part wires, as this just can't be made right, other then that, this will look GREAT!
The motor is merely "setting" in place, it isn't fastened down yet, as I added the linkage for the throttle, and the fuel line to the mechanical fuel pump and will have to run a line to the tank. I got a ways to go....
A shot of the underside frame, and showing some of my detailing painting of the frame.....
The motor, out of the frame.... sitting on a model tire (works well for a "stand"!!!!)
And other engine pic....See the details? Some of which will change before its fastened to the frame!
Then you have the interior....What a BUNCH of painting! Looks GREAT tho! This model was the second model I started, the first one was the 39 Chevy for my Dad, untill his passing, I am unable to look much less touch his model of his car at this time.
SO, the rest are helping me, carry on a normal mind set, and healing....As I have undergone Open Heart surgery and am not up to a lot right now....
I have yet to get a few of my newest edditions on here, I got a bunch of pictures to take needless to say!
