Modern Bullitt build

Do the rubber lines come already crimped? Are you going to rubber hoses under the dash or more stainless? I would guess you are going to run rubber lines from the inner fender panel to the compressor and a stainless to the condenser/Receiver Drier. I wonder if there are places to rent/borrow tubing benders and flaring tools to do this for my car?

No you need to have the line crimped and you can do this at any hydraulic shop, or you can send the lines back to vintage air and they will crimp them for you. As for the flaring tool and tubing bender you may be able to rent or borrow those from the same hydraulic shop if you buy enough of the materials from them?
thanks
Pat

I seriously debated doing the same for my A/C (yet to be installed) but for ease of maintanace I decided not........ I'm really rethinking that now. Looks great and being stainless plumbing it should be pretty trouble free, will be watching to see how your under hood plumbing goes.

I like the bulk head fitting idea at the very least.. We have the Hose Man out on the West Coast so hose isn't an issue, but doing stainless might be..

I received the back ordered EFI fuel tank from Tankstoday. The tank looks stock but it is set up for an in tank fuel pump and ithas baffles spot welded inside along with a 6” X 6” fuel tray. This looks likea nicely made tank for anyone putting a EFI system on their Charger!
Thanks
Pat

I need two more fitting and I can finish the water lines. Now if I find a 3” mandrel pipe bender to borrow I could do the exhaust ;-)
Thanks
Pat

Very Nicely done . . . but the part that I've been scratching my head about, the A/C/ lines - could you show how your continued the routing of them ? ?

I've been debating adding A/C to my convertible . . . but your install is so clean . . . I might have to reconsider . . .

Thanks for the updates !

I am waiting for a few more fittings but hope to have complete pictures of both under dash and radiator side of the AC system soon.
thank you!

I hate even having the heater hoses in the engine compartment. The Vintage air system well make the engine compartment clean!

I finished test fitting the evaporator and making the heater and AC line inside the car. Welded 4 ¼-20studs on the firewall and top of cowl to hold the evaporator instead of the through-bolts and screws. I also put the heater control valve under the dash to hide it.
Thanks
Pat

Nice pictures Pat. As always - top notch work.

I have the Classic Air system, and it is set up much like this. In my case, I had to block off the passenger vent, although I was able to keep the driver vent. In my opinion, it is still really nice to maintain the use of these vents. They work really well and there are a lot of situations where you can use them. In your application, it looks like you could get a driver side vent and adapt it to the passenger side and maintain the use of a vent. I throw that out there just for your consideration...

The other question/comment I have is about the wiper motor. I am sure you checked, but do you have enough room to allow for the wiper arm swing? It is hard to see in the picture.

Really clean and nice installation!!

Hawk,
The drivers side air vent is going back on but I will be closing off the right side vent. You are right the air vent is nice along with the vent window you can get a lot of air flow at low speeds. as for the wiper motor and regulators there is plenty of room, but looking at the pictures I posted the low angle makes it look tight.
Thank You!
Pat

With the help of a few of the members from the DC forum Icut in the outboard dash AC vents use some great measurements, pictures, and partof an AC dash for an original template.
Thanks

Dude, I was thinking the same thing for mine. I have the two side vents.. I have a center vent, but I might use that area for a double DIN audio unit...

Finished the AC and heater lines at the motor, all that is left is one short line to make from the drier to the inter fender bulkhead fitting.

After bending the S/S line I had a friend weld the fitting on instead of silver soldering them on.

The short braided soft lines for the heater and AC running forward and down will help to de-clutter the engine bay.
Thanks

Today I replaced the right side radiator core support so Ican use the larger radiator. The new part fit nice and I spot-welded it inplace. I hope to test fit the new radiator next week.
Thanks

All the AC lines are finished and the drier & condenserhave been test fit. So far I’m very happy with the Vintage Air Mopar B Body system.I’m getting closer to putting the car on the rotisserie.
Thanks
Pat
