I've been past this station several times in Millerton, NY but haven't had an opportunity to stop by and take a look, but today was the day.

I was taking some pictures and there was a truck off to the side. The gentleman got out and we started talking about cars. I asked if this was his and he said yes.

He asked if I wanted to come inside and have a look, absolutely l said. What a cool place and apparently he owns another one.

Enjoy!

That station is about 8 miles from me and I have been past it many times but never stopped. The owner stopped at my house one day to see if a car next door to me was for sale. We got talking,
and he told me that he owned it. He is a really nice guy, down to earth.

That's really cool to see as well. It adds a nice look to a town.
Agree, and it’s a small town, the gas station is the first thing on the corner when you come into town, so it is the first thing you see. Main Street is historic too so it blends right in.

Yes, he is.

He mentioned to me that they do car shows there.

He said that a Mavis tire and Dunkin donuts wanted the property but it didn't play out, so he bought it and restored it. Right now he's working on the heating as well as restoring the bathrooms. He has some original tile that he's using for color matching.

My delivery stop is in the railroad plaza which is beautiful.

It's about a 2hr drive from my house and I'm also a RR buff, so some day I'll take a drive up there with my wife to walk around there.

Those scenes are Great to snap a few pics of your classics around. Takes you back a step in time...

That’s SO COOL!! Wow!!! I love those restored gas/service stations and the old gas station ephemera, displays and posters. So much neat stuff. It would be cool to cruise there in your old Mopar for some pictures. Perfect backdrop.

I saw a restored service station in Nevada on a road trip, it was really well done and the office section and part of the service bay building had been turned into a B&B so you could stay there.

There's YouTube videos on the Millerton gas station.

Has anything been done restoring the old Copake railroad station? Very interesting railroad history out that way.

Love the old service stations, restored now is pretty dang cool...

A wheel bearing went and I got to the Conoco Station in Laramie, Wyoming for repair. Used all of my Traveller's checks to get to California. July 1991. 69 Sport Satellite. Thanks for the memories.

I noticed the Eco Tireflator mounted on the left front of the Filling station. Nice !

No idea on the Copake station but my delivery stop is in railroad plaza in Millerton. They have restored the old ticket office into a flower shop, and the freight station has been restored. Next time l'm up that way I'll take some pictures.

There is a rail to trails on the old Harlem line that passed through there.

Also the old CT Western RR, which was part of the Central New England RR, has a rails to trails in Salisbury, some parts of it are overgrown and are not part of the trail.

My buddy, who I've known for 43 years when we met in 7th grade, is a huge RR buff and we've hiked many old RR lines that were abandoned way before rails to trails was a thing. That was a great time to hike the old abandoned lines before everything was cleaned up and paved, we got to see it as it was left. We picked up a good amount of date nails and glass insulators that hadn't been shot off the telegraph poles.
