You could try Jim Kramer right there in PA. He sells pretty well all the same repro parts that Joe does, plus he has used parts as well. I have bought from him before and he is a solid guy to deal with. He knows his Super Stock stuff.
contact info??

I do like having a clean slate to work with. I can do anything i want any way i want. with that in mind i have made the engine choice. we are going with the poly and a 4 speed seeing that it is set up for that and i don't have the early auto trans. the crew cab will give up her pans, peddles and gauge cluster for the stick car. so i will be stripping her down and bringing a lot of rust free parts to Carlisle.

Good for you! It sounds like a fun decision. Merry Christmas.

i know some of you are wondering how im going to get a 833 behind a 58 poly... lucky for me the engine is for a stick car and came with the correct 8 bolt flywheel and has the correct crank to take the pilot bushing and pass car bell housing and the mods to make it work has already been done. BUT i am going to have to make the hole for the front bearing retainer bigger for the OD trans i will be using. if the bell housing was for a truck or the engine had an auto trans crank it would be a monster mess to put a 833 on it. will post pics when i put it all together.

Does that crank have the extended rear portion where the flange is not threaded, but the flywheel is attached with studs and nuts? If it does, the measurement from the back of the block to the crank flange is going to be different. You might have to use a '62-up crankshaft in it.

it dose have the early crank... but it has the original bellhousing (that has been chromed lol) and so forth and was a stick crank to start with. if it was an auto to start with. id keep the top end and file the rest ..lol

Well.... The final piece of the puzzle showed up today.... Now for the shop time next week.....

I could have put a bigger tire in there and still have room. And more good news.... 3.91 sure grip... Yeaaaa

sad news on the poly.... it has 2 spun main bearings and i can't justify spending the money to have it fixed when i got a good 361 HP and a factory dual quad intake for it in the shed.
to bad too. looks like the heads on the poly have had a lot of work done to them. .. so 361/727 is the call since i don't have a bb bellhousing or flywheel.
