Hey everyone. New to this forum, so I thought I'd introduce myself. my name is Stephanie and I live in Arizona. I've been in love with Mopars before I knew what a Mopar was. I grew up watching the Dukes of Hazzard and I always wanted the cars, even though I didn't know what they were. my first car was a 74 Plymouth Satellite Sebring plus I bought for 450 bucks off my friend and fellow Mopar freak. I drove it for 8 years, scaring the crap out of guys in it and having a blast. When I met my husband, we took the engine out of it and put it in his Dodge truck and drove it around for another 6 years before the crank broke. Even with the crank broken, it still ran and would do 70+ MPH. That's a 318 for ya! I moved from Alaska to Arizona and left my car and my project Satellite at a friends house....then I find out a year after I moved our "friend" sold my cars to a junkyard and they crushed them! :angry1: I cried like I just lost my best friend.
So in 2008, my husband decided to get me a new Satellite. I looked on ebay within 500 miles of my home and found my new love. A 1974 Plymouth Satellite Sundance Edition. I'd never heard of the Sundance and after a quick internet search, I knew this was the car for me...unique! We drove to California after I won the auction and I drove my baby home. It was my Valentines day present from my hubby. I've had the car for several years now, but I haven't gotten much done to it resto wise. I found an old 73 satellite in a wash by my house that had been rolled and burned, took it home and ended up with a few treasures. Now I have the headliner bows and the antenna nut and bezel, since mine was rusted to the point that the antenna sat inside the fender.
So for now, I drive her around town, get the groceries for the family in it and take my kids to school in her. She get lots of comments and I have people taking cell phone pics of her as I drive by. I love driving my Mopar more than anything else, and I have a big goofy grin on my face every time I sit in her. And not only do I enjoy driving her....I enjoy working on her too. She might not be perfect, yet, but that car never leaves me on the side of the road. The day my hubby met me, I was working on the brakes on my 76 Chrysler Cordoba. lol.
So that's all I guess. Hope to talk to all you Mopar maniacs in the future. Have a great day!
