More fuel related issues, now the pump!

Yes, I think I got mine from Jegs or Summit

Mine ran fine on the dyno with 590HP. I used the 5.5-6 psi one.

Had to replace my M6903 a couple of years ago. The original one was 24 years old. I swear that one had 1/4" NPT fittings in it also, just like the new one.
On a side note. The rebuild kits Mancini sells for the M6903 did not work in my old pump. The diaphragm was completely wrong. When I called Mancicni about it I got the old "never heard of anyone else having a problem" deal. Returned the kit and got a new pump.
In 1989 that pump from Summit was $38.69, 2013 $109.95.

Just bought one from Summit, $73.97.

Thanks fellas, once I make certain there's no issues in the line I'll take the Charger for a cruise to Summit and pick one up.

I really, really don't want an electric pump so this is good to know. Just like the simplicity of 2 bolts and 2 lines... Done.

Yeah 747, so if I have a fuel issue now I know it's behind the fuel pump. I've also heard that some of the new vapor canisters have to big a orifice for the return to tank and could do the same thing.....but that is just rumor I can't prove it one way or another.

No canister on mine, just a pump. What exactly are they for? I've always just ran one line and got a pump that didn't require a regulator but have heard a return line helps with vapor locking?

That is why I got one, vapor locking. 10% ethanol will vapor lock before 100% gas. Like you I'm shielding all lines and heat sources. If I understand it correctly it pulls the vapors out to send back to the take.

As for aluminum line I have been running some aluminum line on my car since 2006 and I have had no problems. In fact the inside the carb is as clean as a pin. I do use an electric pump and I use 3/8 line as the 3/8 line should be more the fine for your setup. It sure sounds like a pump issue with yours or a restricted line. Good luck with it , Ron

Hi Devin, I have been running an Areomotive Phantom 340 in tank fuel system on my QF 950 with awesome results. You do need a regulator also. Allot of big block guys with big fuel suckers go this route to keep a stock look. Good luck, hope you get her fixed soon.

Hoping to have it licked this weekend so I can get back to hammering on it. I've only heard good things about Areomotive but I'm definitely sticking with a mechanical for the simplicity of them, just like the idea of keeping it simple...... simple car for a simple minded person haha. That is a nice looking setup though, glad to hear it's working great for you.

Don't know if it's been mentioned, but any rubber hose used makes a difference. Been told today's gas eats at the rubber. Gates makes a rubber fuel hose that holds up to it. Sorry, don't have the #, but parts house should know.

One of the first things I'm checking before buying a pump is that hose, the only rubber hose in my setup is the one on the tank that's about 3" long. Good to know they make a hose for it. Wonder if there's enough nipple on the sender for a compression fitting so I can convert it to AN fittings and braided hose??
