I just got this a couple weeks ago. Has 318 poly 727 trans 8 3/4 rear end with only 42,*** original miles. It does need a little work since it has a been a S.Dakota car since new. But nothing I can't handle. I also plan on mini tubbing it and swapping in a stroked 360 with nitrous. I do have a 440 I was going to use but I think the LA will do just fine and keep the weight done and more driver friendly on the streets. I also am going to change the pale yellow paint and citron interior. Will be ultra pear orange with black interior. The interior will be done by my fiancé I will handle the rest lol. Here is a couple pics...

And it still has the certicard that I think is pretty cool since I have never got this with any of my other mopars. I can't seem to upload the pic of it in the holder hmmm

Looks like a nice car.The body doesn't seem to be too bad other than the lower rears.I think that body style will look great with pearl orange.

Looks like a great project car, good luck with the rustoration...

Great project! Good luck with it!

Thanks everyone! I can't wait to get this one done. I'm even putting my other project on the back burner until this one is done lol. Mopars first!!
Just need to get some parts ordered and find some trim pieces that I'm missing or are damaged. Anyone know of a good source for trim parts??

Boy another hard item to find is outer wheelhouses... Looks like I'll have to fab up my own. Can't seem to find anything but inners for the 66-67.

Well I haven't done much... Yet. Been busy enjoying driving it around and collecting parts. Gotta start somewhere right? Plus there isn't any snow on the ground yet so why not enjoy it a little before it goes under the knife. I converted it over to a new style charging system with 75 amp alternator and 70 style VR box. Just picked up a 489 third member today with 3.90 gears and a locker not sure if that's the gear I'll use but the third member and locker I will for sure. Got my quarter panels on order, I also decided to get ride of most the trim on the sides and top of quarters, doors, and fenders. I'll keep the trim around the top and on the trunk lid once I find one in nicer shape then mine and add a flip top gas cap. As popular as this style car is I thought for sure parts would be easier to find guess that's what I get for thinking lol!!

I am also trying to make up my mind on mini tubbing or full blown tubs. I really want to keep the back seat so my kids can enjoy the rides as well. I'm thinking if I make the tubs and keep the tire under 29" tall so I won't need huge tubs I should be able to stuff some steam rollers under her. Has any one seen or built on with full tubs and the back seat?? Pics of some would be nice if there is any.

Ive never done any tubs in my many cars, i street raced a lot when i was young-n-dum but never run at any tracks.. Im sure if the right person sees all this you'll get an answer. There has to be some cars that would interchange parts with this, I would try to post up specific parts in the parts wanted section, you may get lucky! And i agree with you, there is plenty enough time when the white stuff gets here, enjoy the heck out of it!!

Been playing with a new app on my phone...this is what my plans are. But I may go with a black hood to just break it up some....image.jpg

Beautiful color! Is that one of the "candy" colors, it sure pops like it is.. Your car would look great with that color and a black hood.

Hard to beat an orange and black car.lol Theres a lot of gold pearl in that color. Whats that app? I,d like to have it.

Well I started to do a little work to yesterday....got all the trim holes welded shut along with the hole for the antenna. I've decided to only use the trunk trim and maybe the lower rocker trim I like the cleaner look and since trim is rally hard to find and spendy to have redone even more reason not to use it.image.jpgimage.jpg

Thanks guys!! I'm not sure what the name of the color is just a orange that was on the app. I made it kinda transparent so the silver on the car I used would show thru some. I was going to use HOK Ultra Pearl Orange but I may try to match this color instead.
And the app is called Color Affects it's a pretty cool app to play with.

Great project and great pics!

I geek out on the Certicards too, of the several Mopars I've owned, the '66 Newport I still have is the only one that had/has one.

I dropped the gas tank the other day was going to clean it out and seal it up but...
it is too far gone to save. It was full of rust and when I started cleaning the outside it started to look like Swiss cheese lol. So I tossed it into the scrap pile where it belongs and started mounting up a 22 gallon fuel cell in its place. It's a fairly big cell so I cut the spare tire well out and dropped it down some so I still have some trunk room since I still need room to mount my battery. A couple more fittings and new fuel line and she will be back on the road for a little longer :) Will post some pics when I get it all done. Still need to finish the holder and box it in.

Ok been slowly working on this fuel cell. Decided to take a little break from that and get ride of the gas cap. Much cleaner looking quarter panel now! Now back to finishing the fuel cell...image.jpg
