Sometimes it's best to find a new tool for problematic areas, are you only using the rigid wooden flat board? An area like that might be better blocked out with a contoured foam board that will conform. They're rigid enough to level the panel but flexible enough to bend making it a lot easier.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this Larry but A little advice, look for some tap magic. WD40 is a poor lube for tapping holes, tap magic is made for just that and works great.

Car show / shop work / more progress . . .

Got in the shop and was able to spend some more time on the bodywork that has been giving me a fit . . .

And I think I've got it close . . . this corner has 3 different contours all combining together . . .

Worked on adding some fer racin' holes in the bracket that'll hold my parking brake . . .

Attended a car show at a new Consignment Shop ( near my house ) and saw this really nice Dodge A-100 . . .

April showers . . . bringing a LOT of rain to the Carolinas . . . ( wonder if I should be building an ARK instead of a car ? )

Went out to the shop today and found this . . .

Now to try and track down the source of all this water in the shop . . .

Look what showed up today . . . Ordered it last week ( after your referrals ) . . .

I've got some "tap magic"

Ooops . . . . that's the "other" type of tap magic that I had on my mind . . . how about this . . .

So I'm ready for my next battle with tapping threads . . . Thanks for all the advice FBBO friends . . .

It'll practically tap itself with that stuff Larry!

At a pinch you can use your own spit as a lubricant....you'd need to get a good hefty lump from the back of your throat. :D
It's amazing what a gob of spit can lubricate when needed.

I'm afraid to ask what you southern hemisphere boys use to lubricate for a cable pull through conduit!

I have also used Motor oil or CRC-556 for cutting threads when I didn't have my CRC- CDT (Cutting Drilling Tapping) spray at hand.
I use plain water for tapping aluminium. (not a typo - that's how we spell it according to the Oxford Dictionary)

Dang it guys . . . you're going to get my thread moved to the Blue Forum . . .

or worse yet, you're going to get the moderators on my case ! ! !

Uh, wait . . . . I'm a moderator . . . LMAO

What sort of time frame do you have now Larry for completion of the bodywork? :)
