my 1970 belvedere project

get the floor pans(halves) from amd, that's where i got mine.Don't try and patch one spot and keep another area you think is good.it is alot faster and less work to replace the left/right half, same with the rear floor pans.

Alot of members have gotten their parts from amd and they were happy with them.I got my pan halves from auto body specialties.I think if you order the floor pans in halves and the rear floor pans, they should be able to put everything in one box and maybe save you a little bit on shpg.If you do get the one pice floor,it IS a two man job to put it in.If you get the half pans, then you want to make sure you don't trim/cut too much off your tunnel.Which ever way you go,just make sure you have your car supported and level. Are you still thinking of the body shop to do the work or having your dad help you?

Give Jeff a call @ 521 Restorations. He's a great guy and gives some nice discounts to FBBO members. I think a full floor pan would be the best for your car.

I think you got the right idea. Either get the tools and learn how to use them before ripping into your car, or spend the money and get a quality installation done by a reputable shop. If you go cheap, thats probably what you will get in addition to whatever collateral damage those neck bones would inflict on your car while in their possesion! You have time, that floorboard ain't going nowhere, I would put a few more miles on it this season to make sure all else is good and get into it this winter......

i got there website saved...how do u get a discount?tell them im a member?

sounds like the guy is just going to take advantage of you so he can get beer money. If he lets the kids run around the shop and almost damage cars, he has no repect for your car and i would not let him even come close to working on my car. You've got a little time to enjoy your car b4 winter and that will give you time to get the parts you need.

Good luck!

Josh, it sounds to me like a real good idea to get dad to help you and that way, you'll know more for that next project and more importantly you know it will be right, ive followed some of these guys here and there restorations and your in good hands for any advice and help. Putting your interior in and having some fun for awhile and making it a winter project sounds like a good deal.. Good luck to you..

Sounds like you need to make friends with the old guy. Never know he may want to see his GTX go to a good home!

he said he wanted to leave to his son but hes lazy and wont even clean his new car let alone the gtx if he gave to him...he said here soon he might sell cause his age and its hard to up keep on..he said he would like to see someone like me get it...someone that loves mopar and has a passion for it and will take care of it...he coats frame with oil in winter and covers it and really takes good care of it...im keeping a eye on it and maby i can buy in a few yrs..he got it new in 67 and kept it since...its low mile 440 4 speed car with every option they had..id say its worth a good penny now

yeah definatly steer clear of that body guy. anyone that lets their kids/dogs run wild like that has no respect for someone else's property. and that's with you standing their.
