My charger restoration dream car

A little tweaked but decent shape otherwise. I had to do some spot welding on the frame of mine. Otherwise looking good!
Yes, with some time I should be able to make these seats look good.

I think that I almost have my dash ready to install in the car. I am having troubles trying to mount the fuse box where I think that it goes. The mounting bracket by the glove box is where I think that it is suppose to go but it won't fit. The cardboard glove box it in the way and the boxed out spot is not big enough. I am thinking about removing the mounting bracket and screwing it directly to the bottom of the dash frame where it will be easily accessible.

Looking good! Could you post some closer pictures of the AC ducting?

My car didn't have a dash in it when I got it so I have had to piece mine together and do a lot of research so I'm not sure everything is correct.
I had a hard time trying to find out where this solid plastic extension goes. I finally found a picture that showed a piece of it and figured out where it goes. It is the extension up over the steering column.

Here are a few more pictures of the vents. I plan on setting the dash and then trimming the tubes to length to fit under the dash. I have been using some short set screws to make sure the vents stay in place.

I'm always open for advice from anyone else if you see anything that I need to know.

Because my fuse box doesn't fit with the glove box and I don't want to cut the box, here is what I'm thinking to do with my fuse box. I am thinking of removing the mounting tab and drilling a hole where I have marked the X. I can then screw the fuse box under the dash and it would be easily accessible if I needed to change fuses.
Do any of you have any suggestions.

Won't that tab be in the way? But YES sounds good, other than laying on your back to do so.
Is that the tab it's supposed to bolt to?

I have tried to check and I don't think that it will be in the way any more then where it was suppose to mount. As far as I can tell, that tab is where it was supposed to mount and be accessible from inside the glove box, I have had a hard time trying to find any photos or info.

The reason I ask is my was a victim of a sawzall from a previous owner and had to remake the tab. Hope mine fits if not you solved my problem.

I misread your first question. Yes, that tab is in the way. I would have to cut my glove box open to fit the fuse box on it. I am thinking of doing what your previous owner probably did and remove that tab. My dash frame is from a 69 charger and I don't know if they had any different layouts so I figure that it won't hurt to modify a little.

Hi Showard. These pics are from my 70 GTX, so i think the liner may be a little bit different. But it may give you some visual help in working yours out. I've removed my liner a couple of times now so it's starting to look a bit worn.

My understanding is that the 68 fusebox faces downward and is accessed from below the dash. In 1969 they changed the location to be accessible from inside the gloxebox per MonroeGTX's pictures. That's the way the Plymouths are anyway.

Thank you for the pics. They help me, quite a bit, to understand how things are supposed to fit. The glove box is made with an access door that can be removed. I like to see how yours fit on an A/C dash. Looks like you are doing a great job on your car.

That would be why my 69 dash frame with a 68 glove box insert is not working out for the fuse box. Thank you for explaining that. I have not been able to find out that information anywhere I have looked. At least I'm not way off in my thinking.

I need some more help. I have a question for anyone that has some suggestions for me.
I got my car out today to go through and make a list of things to do and get. I pulled all of my parts out to see how they fit. When I was rebuilding my engine I did not think far enough ahead to figure how things will fit. I put tall aluminium intake manifold on and I found out today that with my air cleaner on it is to tall for my hood.
What should I do? Is there a low profile air cleaner that will fit? Or should I try to find a lower intake manifold?
I know, I do things backwards.
