My charger restoration dream car

I've still been working on the engine bay. I have been figuring out some of the wiring, gas and air lines, and throttle linkage. It has been a learning curve for me to try and figure how all of these fit. I keep finding out that because I installed a taller intake manifold that it changes the fit of many other things on my engine. I tried several throttle linkages and finally had to buy a taller holding base and a longer throttle cable. Now my kick. down linkage would not work so I bought a kick down linkage from Year One. I now feel that everything seems to be fitting and working as it should.
I'm getting closer to trying to fire her up.

It's all progress and moving in the right direction. Looks good!

Looking awesome! Love a nice & clean engine compartment!

Funny how summer is way busier than winter, even with hunting season.

After watching Justin redo his own seat upholstery with the Legendary kit I decided to try my own (not that I think that I can do as good a job as Justin bit I think that I can make it look good).
I ordered the whole kit back in June and they had to make it for me so the supplies just got here.

I'm Starting with the front bucket seats that I have already cleaned and repainted. I pulled up the Legendary Auto Interiors installation instructions on the computer and started following the step by step video and everything seems to be going good so far.
First I had to follow the video on how to attach the muslin cloth to the molded foam.

I worked on finishing up the front bucket seats today. The back seat was more complicated than the bottom seat but still not to hard to make look good.
Again I followed the step by step instructions in stretching the material over the seats and hog ring attaching them to the seat frames.

Clipping and screwing the bucket seat back panels.

Cutting out the holes for the seat back bolts.

I kept and reused washers, screws, etc.

I cut out and fit the seat headrests.

Awesome job! Really looks great, how long did it take to do?
I took my sweet time to make sure that I didn't miss anything or make any big unfixable mistakes. It took me a combined time of about 6 to 7 hours to do the front bucket seats. I ran out of hog rings so I will need to get me some more before I tackle the rear seats.

I started to work on the rear bench seats today. Apparently the instruction video, for the rear seats, has more confidence in my understanding because it hasn't been as detailed and they have skipped some steps so I hope that I can figure it out.
I started by getting them covered with the burlap material.

This next step, to put on this border to protect the foam from the seat springs, was not mentioned but I noticed when I was watching how to install the foam that the instructor already had it on his seat.

IMG_2817.JPG

This foam is supposed to fold over and be hog ringed to the seat springs. The foam was so stiff that when I would attach it to the springs that it would slowly rip the foam and leave the hog ring on the springs and flip back open, even after using many clips. I ended up spraying adhesive on the foam edge and attaching some muslin cloth then the clips held and didn't pull through.

Nice job! You're lucky to have a shop class to do the work in.
