My dog ate a whole pizza

When I was in my 20s, young and married, my wife use to make these pineapple upside down cakes for holidays. We had a small German Shepherd female named Heidi who lived in the house with us. Well, the wife left the cakes on the shelf behind the corner diner style table to cool and we left to eat dinner. When we got back home the house was unusually quiet and Heidi was conspicuously missing. Since that wasn't like her we thought the worst and started searching the house for her. I found the dog and the wife found the 9" round cake was gone and the 16" X 24" cake was half eaten. Poor Heidi looked like a Pot-belly pig. She was so ill from eating all that cake we felt too bad to punish her further.

Love them . . . they are great ! ! ! And really BIG too ! ! !

My Great Dane was called "A barking horse" by one of my friend's son . . . still can't stop laughing about that . . .

Thats funny! Reminds me of a Lab we once had that ate a 25lb bag of dogfood. We came home to a pot belly pig! They say it could be dangerous for the dog. I made sure she had plenty of water and watched her closely for a couple of days. Once she pooped it all out she was back to normal. She never knew when to stop eating, ever.

He was helping you on your diet. Don't blame him he needs you to get his food every day and just wants you in shape. It's because he loves you

Whoa, last thing You want do with a Dog(or ANY Animal)that overeats DRY food is to give Them water KK.....the water makes the kibble SWELL up. The Lord Blessed Your Pup & You.

My dog ate a whole prime rib dinner on me when the police and rescue had shown up for a neighbor! My other dog ate a whole chocolate birthday cake right before the party! And then the dog puked all over the house!

Our Collie swiped a pot roast off the counter when she was 2 yrs old. Our Great Pyr has discovered counter surfing as his head is now above the level of the edge. So far he has not taken anything but I have turned around and caught him with his mouth open and reaching for things. He is sneaky.

God that reminds me. I had the '69 Charger in the barn covered with old quilts as I was too cheap to buy a nice car cover. Little Bear thought it was a bed and jumped right up on the hood. Luckily the dog's feet and the blanket skid off at the same time.

Animals on, or eating off the counter doesn't fly with me. They'd be spending a lot more time outside

This is what my Father in Law might look like with his shirt off. He is from Iraq and they are often quite hairy people.

Elvis won't touch it...
{he's a 95# lab} & most all my dogs have been like that...He'll be sitting in a puddle of drool when I come back...
 and
I had a Lab "Duke" that ate a whole bucket of KFC
I would have been freaking out because of the bones! Man-I'm glad that didn't have a tragic ending! Bloody stools and/or vomiting are 2 tell tale signs. My soon to be ex-wife wouldn't listen when I said no bones for the dogs-ever (had to go 100% no bones because she's too ******* stupid to know which ones are safe). Still, like most things, she wouldn't listen (even though I was a dog trainer for 3 years and a dog nutrition expert) and our chocolate Lab Cocoa paid a price. Bloody stools was the sign. Overnight stay at the veterinary hospital on I.V. fluids and some Metimucil and the bone fragments passed.
"Newfies" are AWESOME, kinda like giant Labrador retrievers in disposition and amazing water rescue dogs!
I'm glad he's ok.
Oh, and:

Another bullet dodged.
Chocolate kills dogs, in a very unpleasant manner. Raisins are an absolute no too.
Yeah i knew about chocolate, but I didn't know about raisins....Thanks for bringing it up. I know onions are bad too, but garlic is ok,,,that's a weird one.
