This is with only a 3600 chip.

I now need the correct Hoosier Stiff Sidewall 29" slicks and put in a 4200 chip and let her rip.
I am going thru the lites at 6900-7000 RPM at 129.xx MPH with my 28" tall M/T ET Streets Slicks. My max HP is made around 6500 so I am going way past my power making in the lites at 6900-7000 RPM.
Also...the transbrake launch is absolutely "crushing" my current M/T 28" tall slicks even with 16lbs of air. Higher air pressure just then loses the bite...so, after talking to the Hoosier Tech reps they did suggest their 29" tall "stiff sidewall" slicks made for heavy cars like mine (3695lbs).

Bad ***, that thing is moving. Hopefully my 67 can turn similar times

The rebound setting on your rear shocks is WAY loose. Video #2 at 10 seconds in. Watch how quickly the rim to fenderwell gap opens. Tighten up those shocks.

Doug

Nice launch

I agree .
Tightening rebound will pull some hit off the tyre , reduce crush . Then go after compression . Tyre seems to wobble up/down a few feet out

Tex

What tire pressure are they at in the vid? They are wadding up and your driving over the tire.

Looks nice Mike.

Just about there Mike! It leaves hard. Some fine tuning and you'll be into the 130's.

Tires at 16lbs. I put 17 and 18 in them and it just lost traction altogether.
Problem is I need the Hoosier STIFF SIDEWALL TIRE for my 3695lb car as 11.25 wide slick is the widest tire I an fit under the car with my narrowed rear end and mini-tub job.
As stated in my original post I know I now have the wrong tires on my car with the "hit" the transbrake puts on the tires as it is crushing the tires. I need the stiff sidewall ones from Hoosier and they will be on the my next outing. Who cares....just another $462 plus mounting and balancing which blows the crap out of a $500 dollar bill.

Tex...yes....the tires are getting crushed and is wobbling up and down and I think the tires really just wants to come completely off the rim....LOL...
I do NOT have double adj shocks and no budget for them now.
I have Cal Trac 9 Way Adjustable set on soft #2 which is what the Cal Trac Tech tells me to do.
John Calvert looked at the video also and said he wanted the car to lift like that and said that when I get the stiff sidewall Hoosier tires it should solve the crushing problem and get my 60' times down where they should be.

Damn Mike, you'll be doing this again before too long!

You wouldn't have that video in "real time" would you? Sorry just a gear head here and trans brake launches are cool!

I have the same thing as you Mike, and the stiff sidewalls will be going on here too. But for this weekend I'm still gonna be running on the softies with 13 lbs.

Well...that picture was taken about 50 years ago. Wasn't worried about nothing when I was 25 years old. With the rear wheels altered 15" forward and the engine set back 26" the drive shat was only about 8" long....LOL

And you only needed one rear tire

I've got my rebound set at 16 of 18 to keep it from separating. QA1 dble adjustable.
