Anyone do this yet? Is it remotely possible. Please don't ask why, I'm just curious. My 440 is stroked to 505 and puts out around 650HP. I haven't decided on my trans yet. Suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

We have a few 505s & 540s around here running various transmissions, 727s, a833s, Lenco's etc, all in limited Prostreet type cars. It all depends what your application will be and how much you want to spend. What ever you use all of your driveline components clutch, converter, drive shaft, rear end will all need to be upgraded. I run a healthy 472 with a shot of Nitrous with a blueprinted a833 thru a Dennys drive shaft to an old Dana 60. No problems. A friend has a 750+hp Ebody 727w brake & strange dana 60 copy. The 727 has all the good billet internals and a good converter. BOth of our cars are heavy 3400LBS+ using M&T ETstreet slicks & Cal tracs. They will hook at the track and test your driveline. There is a lot of good published data available, good luck.

That trans is computer controlled, and would require a stand alone computer. The BAD news is , I don't think anyone offers this for the NAG1, more bad news, is you will need an adapter to go from big block to small block=$$$$. But hey, anything is possible.

Thanks for the info, I won't skimp on the drive line but just am not sure what I want to do. It will always be street driven with the occasional trip to the track. The nice things about the newer trans is the overdrive. My thought were the Kiesler 5 speed or maybe a 518 conversion.

p.s.

Too bad that Plum Floored is not near New Jersey, I love the Dark Runner, would love to do something similar with my 69 bee

518 or 727 with GV would be the way I would go.
