I know this is a B-Body Mopar forum, so if this post is not appropriate, please point me in the correct direction where I can find some info . I have come across what I believe to be a 1966 or 1967 Stepside Dodge PU. It appears to have a V8 and a 4 speed. I think it is a D100. I am attaching a few pics and would like to know anything about it anyone could tell me, especially around value as a project and completed. I really like this truck, just not sure if I should move on it or not.

Thanks!

If you really like it, then buy it!

Good luck with your purchase!!!

That thing is bad ***, if the price is right buy it
That is the issue, I have no idea what this truck is worth, so looking for feedback in that regard. I was hoping someone who has some experience with a truck like this would chime in and verify the year and give me a ballpark value.

I just want to be sure I am not wasting my money, so I thought I would try and get some feedback before jump.

I haven't a clue what that pick-up should cost. The pick-up truck "community" seems to go crazy over old pick-ups.

My rabid mind says $10,000 would be a good price for an old "rust-free" Arizona truck. 4 speed...yum! Is the pick-up mostly original? What engine?

Is it for sale or are you planning on just making an open offer to the owner? Deals where owners get approached out of the blue would probably result in MORE money to make the deal happen.

Not sure of the engine size or whether or not it is original, but I am sure it was a V8 because I opened the hood and there was a big rat/squirrel nest on top of the intake manifold.

There was no for sale sign on it. I saw it when I was on one of my walks, so I took some pics to show my wife. We went over to where the truck is and asked to speak to the owner and he was not in that day, so I left my number. I have not heard back, but one of the people mentioned that he was wanting to sell the truck and they thought he was asking $2000. I am going back there today to get the story on the truck if the guy is there. I think for 2k or less, I cannot really go wrong.

I always wanted one of those. That particular one is one of the coolest I have seen.

If it is as rust free as it looks in those pics, $2k would be a screaming bargain.

Thanks. Yes, it looks pretty much rust free on the body and frame. Also no major dents on the body. Even the bench seat looks to be in great condition. Like I say, I will go see if he is available today and if so, I will try and get the story. I will e sure to let you all know. I did make a post on the forum suggested above, so far only views and no replies.

Almost all vehicles are a waste of money, it's just a fact of life.
True Richard, very true. Some people want to rescue dogs or cats, I want to rescue this old truck. I would really like to keep it, but I have no place to keep it, and leaving it outside in southeastern AZ is not good, the packrats and sun would do it in. Don't know if I mentioned it, but there is already a huge nest of some sort on top of the intake manifold. To me, this old truck almost has that art-deco look to it. We will see what happens!

Buy it, for $2,000, that's a steal!
Thanks Carnut! I am using the feedback from this thread and the one on the Dodge truck forum as "research" to convince my wife that we should get this truck.
