I have a 1973 Charger 400 bb 2 bbl.I purchased a Holley carb it's a replacement for my old 2 bbl.I noticed a vacuum line going from my EGR valve to the carb but on the new one there isn't a nipple for the hose. Do I just cap it off at the T ? Or should I call National Carb and talk to them about it
Personally, I would call National Carb. My "guess" is that you have a '72 carb or a '74 carb or a California carb original on your '73. I'd ask them to check to see if they list a different carburetor number for any of those options & take a look at one to see if that vacuum nipple is there or not.
If worse comes to worse, you have a couple other options.
1. Re-use the base plate from your old carburetor on the new carburetor. You'll need a new base/main body gasket & you'll need to look very carefully at both carburetors to make sure everything lines up OK.
2. Drill a passage into your new carburetor base & put in the nipple you need and epoxy it in.
