Hello all, I'm new here! Hopefully if all goes well I'll be a long term
Member! I found the car of my dreams! Ever since i was a kid I've always wanted a nice roadrunner. Now that I finally got the cash for one I found what seems to be the perfect fit for me. Problem is I don't have much knowledge about these cars. I've owned several Camaros, Corvettes, Trans am's but this would be my first real mopar muscle car. I'd like any info and opinions you can provide. I'm getting the car for about 30k shipped. But before I send the check I need to know this is worth the price and it's the real deal! I'm not interested in a clone!

The buyer made me a video to try and show the car in detail.

Sorry if my grammar is off. Posting from my phone.

Mopar experts, your opinions are needed! I'm ready to
Go get my car but not before I know it's worth
It and the real deal. Any extra info is also appreciated!

Thanks for looking!

well sir I have never had a RR but have been around meny of them..If I were in the market for one I would not have no trouble writing a check for that one.other than It sounds like it needs the timeing set. it looks and sounds good.and that sounds like a good price..good luck and welcom to the site....Artie

Looks good to me. I tried to spot out anything wrong with it but i didn't see anything, Although i couldn't tell if the exhuast tips were right but i assume they are since everything else looks good.
Best of luck,
~Nick

Great!!' thanks guys! So everything looks correct? He says it's a real numbers matching RR. I'm thinking about flying down to go see it. Anything I need to look for in order to confirm it's real?

definitely go and see it in person.i own 3 roadrunners. one 68 hemi rr, one 69-1/2 A12 rr and a triple black hemi rr.
you need to climb under and over that car and make sure everything is what he says it is and is correct. ask me how i know. ive been doing this for a long time and you cant trust anyone anymore. where is the car located?

just watched the video. 4 speed nice, car is worth $27,000 in this market.no more
exhaust tips are rusty, also need rto get top numbers off of the radiator. i love the color combo too! nice car.

I am building a 69 now, that one looks spot on expect some surface rust due to the age but it looks like it's only a few years old was it restored? 383 A/C car with bench seat and 4 speed sounds correct dash looked correct How much is it? I love he wanted everyone to see how well he kept his home lol is that a Canadian thing?

Hmm...been having a close look at the video and there appear to be rust holes in the floor. Use the pause button during the part after they film the fuel tank. There also appears to be some uneveness in some of the chassis rails, on the ends. Just take a closer look is all I'm saying.

@ SUPERSTOCKRACER -

Beautiful cars!! I really like your black one with the red pin stripes. The car is located about 50 miles out of Boston. Im all the way down in Texas, so as you can imagine its a good distance away.

@ bigmanjbmopar

The seller did admit it did have some rust on the exhaust, but he said for the most part is a pretty solid car. Buyer claims he restored it 3 years ago and only has 62000 original miles. He has documents to prove restoration.

@ Aussie Coronet

Seller did mention rust on the exhaust. As for the chassis I sure hope its not uneven as Ive decided to contact the seller and make final arrangments.

Im getting the car for 27,000 shipped to my drive way.

Have the guy send you information off the fender tag drivers side inner wheel housing & the VIN # make sure it's a RM23H9 the rest of the vin # is were it was built & production #'s, if it dosen't start with those #'s in the VIN it's a clone example R=Mid-size Series (Satelite, Roadrunner, Belvedere, B-Body), M=RR, 23=2 door HT, H=383cid/hp 335hp, 9=1969... Also the fender tag will tell you every part that was ordered from the factory, including paint wheels, interior, stripes, window tint, carpet, suspension etc. & options other than dealer installed options parts... There is also a broadcast sheet under the rear seat usually it will have all the same corresponding information also, if they still have it... There is a guy Galen Govier, that specializes in decoding MOPARS for a fee of course... There are also decoders available on the web to do some research... $20K-$35k is the going price for a decent car in good shape, relatively rust free... It looks pretty good but a phone video is hard to tell from... Even if it is a rotisserie restoration & the guy has $50K in it, it is still only worth in the neighborhood of $30K (U.S. dollars) for a quality car on the open market, unless it was a 4406bbl or Hemi car witch it's not, it could be worth a bunch more.... A factory 4 spd, factory A/C car is a desirable car, the 383ci/335hp 4bbl is the STD base engine in those years... Power brakes & power steering were also desirable options... Look at the lower corners of the front & rear windshields they a extremely prone to rust, also the botton rear of the front fenders & directly under that area, also in the trunk under the rear valance area in general underneath in the trunk & above the fuel tank, also the outer edges of the rear wheel wells & behind the wheels on the lower portion of the quarter panels, also look at the frame at the transmission cross-member area it holds the rear of the torsion bar suspension & is also prone to rust especially in foul/wet/snowy weather areas & floorboards under the foot areas, also look at the frame rails front subframe & rear uni-body rails especially at suspension connecting points & shock mounts for signs of rust, also the driver side & passenger side floors directly under the corners of the windshield & heater box are areas also prone to rust... The bench seat is a STD equipped the 4spd is STD also, the 2 tone interior is STD, a small square in dash tach. to the far right of the instrument panel is optional, if it has 1, under dash map light, glove box or ash tray light is optional if it has them, any radio other than an AM thumbnail radio with what looks like 4 chrome dials & 5 push buttons is either a option or aftermarket, I think the 8 track was an option in 1969 or a radio delete... I covered some of the basic issues of a 40+ year old Mopar & were to look the other thing "is the is he hiding something factor" or lack of a paper trail Mopars are some of the best documented cars on the market from that muscle car era... Happy M_o_P_a_R ing...

I like it!....price is right if it looks as good in person.
I WOULD LIKE TO SEE HIM LIFT THE floor "MAT' IN THE TRUNK UP and off

Nice looking car. I agree with everyone else's opinion but I did notice a few things. The horn sounds a little anemic and the starter cranks a bit slow. Maybe low battery voltage from sitting or charging system issues. The orange hood inserts are wrong for a non air grabber car, or let's say I have never seen a non air grabber RR with the orange hood inserts. The hood stripes don't appear to have the correct textured finish either. If that's a factory A/C RR I believe that's pretty rare. I also noticed a lot of options over and above the STD RR package - assuming they are coded on the fender tag. Fender mounted signals and trunk light, premium upholstery, tach, hood stripes, chrome tips, A/C of course, 26" radiator, however it appears to be a Modine replacement. Did it have power steering and brakes? Don't remember. If so add them to the option list. The larger radiator on this car is most likely for the A/C but the other reason would be for a performance axle package. STD ratio is 3.23 and should be a 489 case sure grip. Still looks like a great car for the money.

Still a really nice car... I was wondering about the fender mounted turn signal lights also, not really a RR thing it was pretty much a Sport Satellite or GTX option, also the N-96 Air Grabber was Orange inserts & the others were argent/black I believe.. Also if it has trunk light it should also have the light package, glove box, ash tray & map light also, I know the Decore Interior Package interior is optional & usually has the rear seat arm rests with chrome ash trays in them also, mine all have been solid black interior when the Decore Interior Package was an option & it is a different grain pattern to it as well, no matter the color...

The info above is right on but I will add the following.

The 383 RRs sand Bees with factory A/C did NOT get the 335 h.p. engine but rather the 330 h.p. and these two engines were always painted different colors. This car from the pictures has the correct turquoise colored engine for the 330 h.p. engine so who ever did the resto new what they were doing or simply refinished it per what they found on the original engine.

Also check the V.I.N. on the lower passenger side of the block to match the body and title V.I.N.

I would exspect the seller to have pre-resto pictures that will show the cars body condition and how it was repaired as being done.

Good info guys! Thanks guys! Im glad I came here! The vin is RM23H9G236325 im going to do some research tomorrow afterwork to see if i can decode it myself. He has the original build sheet as well.

The truck has no rust or has been patched very well, it was the first thing I asked him to send me a picture of.

I would take the advice from Superstockracer and go see the car in person if you are willing to spend that amount of money on a car.

I would agree

Your correct about the engine color the Roadrunner Engine 383ci 335hp in 1969 was orangesh, (all 68's wedges were turquoise blue, even the 335hp) & it would have an red dog dish air cleaner tin that says Roadrunner Engine, also the marginally milder camshaft with less aggressive opening ramps because of the A/C, which I'm sure you already knew, I didn't really want to keep writing it was becoming a book...

If you have read some of my posts you will SEE some NOVELS.

I get pretty wordy and often have run on sentences. Fortunately we don't have the grammar police here. I do so that I cover the facts and try to leave no room for question in what I post. The down side is that people usually get tired of reading and then ask a question in the next post that I have already posted the answer to. ARE YOU ASLEEP YET?:upside down:

Yep

I always feel like I should have written a more complete answer, but you have to stop a some point, it becomes too long & you will loose their attention sooner than latter... Thank god we don't have the gramer & spelling police here... I would be locked up...

Thanks for all the great info guys! Regardless of
How long you wrote I still read it all about 3 times.. I'm trying to learn
as much as possible. Does anyone by any chance live
In the Boston area? I'm willing to pay for someone with knowledge to go
Down there to take a look for me.

Thanks
