I disagree with you about this country sucks! Show me a better one. What sucks is all the politicians that call themselves leaders have done nothing but line their own pockets! It's time for we the people to come together and take back OUR country.

my point exactly Cranky. this used to be a great place to live....we made everything here...cars tools....EVEN FOOD. now we import everything because its "cheaper"??? i dont see how thats possible. Everyone who WANTED a job had one. and we wanted for NOTHING. now people like our good buddy here and im sure many others are living hand to mouth.....and whos to blame?.....the pocket lining politicians that run this country...RUINED IT. Prices of everything are sky high...and who can afford this stuff besides the CROOKED WEALTHY. money goes to money...it always has and it always will. and us poor slobs are left to pick up the tab. to me thats bullshit. like i said before,,,,this place suxxx!

A few members in my family is in the mortgage business, one of my sisters, a niece & nephew all have had trouble getting people into loans, even the govt. supported loans, it's too hard for almost anyone to qualify for now, no equity in there homes now either, even the people that have excellent credit, have issues getting mortgages now, I hear about it every time I talk to any of them... You can thank the Barney Frank/Dodd bill for that.

Christopher Dodd has been behind most every financial disaster in this country. He and Joe Lieberman were the geniuses behind the change to the law that prohibited auditors from having financial stakes in the companies they audited, which gave us the ENRON, TYCO, et al fiascos. He was a big supporter of the Community Reinvestment Act that caused the mortgage disasters we have today. About the only disaster he didn't have a hand in was the collapse of the derrivatives market, that caused the bank collapses, but Bill Clinton, Bob Rubin, Larry Summers, and Tim Geithner handled that on their own.

The mortgage companies aren't the problem. The government is. The Feds were the ones pushing the mortgage companies to make loans to people who couldn't afford them in the first place. Now we have the Feds making an effort to go in and tinker around with home mortgages again, which is going to cause even more problems. When will they learn good intentions usually lead to horrible business decisions?

Your right. I totally agree with you. The government let the mortgage company's take your money because they did not keep a eye on them. Then the mortgage co. wanted a bailout. I did not let them do it to me. I paid my 120k mortgage off myself by the age 40 with hard work( My wife has never worked ) and I will never be indebted to the banks again as long as I live. I wish Scott the best of luck but he sure has had some bad luck dealt his way.

Well guys, they day came. Went to the court. Appeared in front of the judge with the wife, step-daughter, and her two babies. We told the judge that we had been trying to contact Fannie-Mae during the redemption period, and had nothing but the run-around. We asked the judge for 60 days to get a lawyer, and make Fannie-Mae do their job. The lawyer for Fannie-Mae objected, and wanted eviction in 10 days. But the judge ordered 30 days for us to work on a resolution. He also denied other motions from the F-M lawyer. So, a breather, but we ain't done yet! We had told the judge that we wanted to work with F-M, but once the wheels were in motion there, all they want to do is clear the file, not settle, or work with people.

BTW, just in case anyone is wondering, we are willing to continue the mortgage on our property at the original terms, and amounts. We love this place, and plan to be buried here. So the market value of it doesn't bother us. It IS worth less than we owe, but it is home for us, and extended family. Since I planned to die here, I never cared what it would sell for. I dont care what my home is worth till the day I sell it. And I aint sellin!
