Needing help from machine shop guys around. Searching for a piston

Every seller gets individual pieces straight from UEM, and they don't have the old design anymore in stock, just the newer design with equalized valve pockets

I had to go through the same bs...cracked a piston pin boss, mounting a rod...cracked.
Bite the bullet...get the 'newer' piston, or buy a complete new set...your choice. Mixed, but same weight, will work.

Pistons and rings are already clean and perfect.

I'm just searching for the exact replacement piston... I know there are several other solutions, but if an exact replacement is posible, preffer that...

Here's a KB-251 .040 single piston ... maybe you get it machined ...

I already contacted jegs while ago about what I was searching and they didn't have them ( not at least individually )... I can't remember if I actually asked about 251s thought

If you glass bead masking tape to mask off the ring area
nasty stuff and you have to get it all out
anyone have a vibrating cleaner or ultrasonic
seriously a lot of work on the underside of the piston
maybe just clean them up chemically
you can knurl the non thrust side if they are a little loose old school but a proven fix

I'm just needing the piston replacement due the broken skirt, thats all.. the piston barelly have 5K miles.


false alarm fom summit... they also order straight from manufacturer, but dunno why they still list L and R pistons

is that ding on the thrust or non thrust sid
if non thrust you are really good to go
even on the thrust side those are long skirts
keep looking but you could run those
I won't tell

my dream is still on... somebody has to get some machine shop friend able to find one

KB215 or KB251 +20 to 5th cylinder

( it took me 8 years up to get a kilometer speedo for my rallye cluster, and got 2 after that, so why not to keep the dream on on this ?
