Drove my '67 Satellite out to the Barona 1/8 mile drags today and improved from my previous best of 7.96 @ 85 last month to 7.86 @ 87 today.

I don't know if it was the good weather (mid-60s with 26% humidity) or the little tuneup I gave the car (new plugs and backed the hydraulic lifter preload down from 3/4 turn to 1/2 turn). Either way I'm happy as long as the ET keeps going down a little bit at a time.

Congrats, one stat that works well, racers whos times go down not up! Good luck with getting it down further!

A new best is always a great day !! I remember when my 383 Dart I had years ago ran a best of 12.31 @ 110 as it was a 7.86 in the 1/8 at about 87 mph. I always remeber that as it was the best I ran in that combo. And even though we ran 1/4 mile I always remember my 1/8 mile times also. So you have a solid 12.30 car in the 1/4 which means you are not far from cracking the 11's ! I think 11.90's would be about 7.60's as I remember when my 63 ran mid 11's that 7.40's was 11.70's. Looks like you will be cracking the 11's real soon. Congrats on the new best ! Ron

Thanks everyone! I have the disease real bad - I'm not happy unless my ET is lower than the time before. So between outings I'm always racking my brain trying to think of little things to do for the next time. Still thinking about changing from 3.91s to 4.30s, maybe a 'glass hood and front bumper. I know a head and cam swap would really wake things up but I don't like tearing something apart that seems to be running pretty good for what it is.

I call it hot rod fever or the need for speed. Us gearheads are always looking to go faster every time we go racing ! Ron
