thank-you sir
thanks for the info my serial number is PD26742 head numbers look to be 600668-1 silverdome and block casting numbers 600629-1 maybe?Don, This is what I came up with. My oldest MOTORS MANUAL says this information, it covers from 1935 to 1946.
Engine Number Location: Left front of cylinder block. This info is from passenger car book.. so truck engine numbers could be slightly different.
1935 6 cyl DU-1001 Bore 3.250 x stroke 4.375 =217.8 cu in. CR 6.50 developed HP 82 @ 3600 RPM.
1936 Engine number=D2-1001 217.8 cu in.
1937 " " =D5-1001 217.8 cu in.
1938 '' " =D8-1001 " "
1939 " " =D11-1001 " "
1940 " " =D14-1001 " "
1941 " " =D19-1001 " "
1942 " " =D22-1001 Went to 230.2 cu in. in 1942 and up till 1954
1946 =D24-1001
1947 =Engine numbers continued from 1946.
Maybe this information will help shed some light on what engine you have.
