Wow...
Summer of 2018...
First, thanks for all of you for your help and patience with me. Obviously things change, a LOT with my "plans", and take forever.
Posting and discussing ideas keeps me motivated.
@PurpleBeeper Could you post a link and/or picture(s) of the tiny red pushbutton you put in your factory style Pistol Grip shift handle?
Next, I have completely paid for a Bill Mitchell aluminum RB block, and it's going to be a 541 cu in stroker. It's at my builder's shop, waiting for me to have a boat load of bucks to pay for the tons of parts and labor to complete it, break in and dyno tuning included. 50% down, 50% on completion.
Also, I am going with the Indy ModMan intake with the 6bbl top. Too many arrows are pointing at that for me to say no. They have a CNC program to bring it to MW port size, and I think it's only $100 extra.
Even with my target of the widest RPM range of 700 ft lbs torque, I still need to discuss the ring gap and whatever else is required for up to a 300HP shot of nitrous. As long as it doesn't wreck normal driving or add a lot to maintenance or some other significant detriment(s) I can't see not having that capability. ALL of my parts will definitely be strong enough for the nitrous by default, because no one should put so-so parts in a BMP block. It's probably just a ring gap change, but I'll know more as the time gets closer.
One immediate thing I would need the extra power for is to be able to have a chance to beat my close friend in his low 9 second 2005 supercharged Corvette. If not him, it could still be anyone. I have tons of tweaking and tuning and driving experience to do before I could even get close one day, and it still may not happen. It sure seemed "easy" for him to do. I'd hate to have the power handling capability of the BMP block and all the other parts and not have 300 more ponies ready.
I haven't even driven my car on the track since I put 20k in parts and labor in mid/late 2020, but I should soon.
I still may wind up with the aftermarket "Six Pack" scoop, but I'm trying to keep my N96 hood and Air Grabber. If it can't be made to fit/work it won't be due to lack of effort or research.
That's it. @PurpleBeeper PLEASE post a pic or link to the pushbutton on your Pistol Grip.
Thanks!
