My 69 did not have the AirGrabber option so what stops rain from pouring down into the engine compartment through the mesh in hood openings? Is there a flapper or something that should mount under hood?
Non air grabber cars only had a solid ribbed metal plate instead of the screen mesh. Someone replaced them with the screens on your car. I did that to mine back in 69 to help it run cooler.
I would leave it as is as it's probably not a daily driver so the chances of you getting caught in the rain are slim. And even if you do, the rain will not hurt anything under the hood.
