Hi. I was looking at a 1967 Coronet the guy claims was ordered by the military in California,China Lake, to be exact. The car has a fender tag that checks out,but no vin plate. I would think all cars would have a vin even if ordered by the military. He claims to have papers but has to get them from another location.Anyone heard of this?

I have a 1984 Dodge D-150 that was originally ordered by the military here in Nevada in 1984 and it has the factory installed VIN. I would be very leary of this and definitely would try to stay away from this unless you find out otherwise. In California my father worked on a lot of government and some military vehicles and we recorded all vin's for warranty purposes. (Plates got swapped around a lot) Everyone I personally recorded was a factory VIN, and I am going back to the 60's forward. Use a lot of caution!!!!!

Never heard of no VIN. But I have had government owned cars before.... forget any "title" as you know it and I've never had them show on a carfax.... not yet anyway... (that be for newer stuff)

the vin on that car will be inside door. in my state there was no title for military veh. but they did have the vin.#..........Artie

all the military vehicles that I had, had vin tags and data plates
