Not a bad barn find...............

Not bad at all! You could sell that puppy and buy a real nice MOPAR! :icon_salut:

Very cool 69 Shelby GT500, 40 years of storage, never driven in the rain & never hose washed allegedly even, 8,500 miles IIRC... I'd love to own one, but not for those 6 figure auction prices, it's not my favorite year of a Shelby thou... Less than 1000 were built, the 69's that didn't sell were then re-vined {with cooperation of Ford & the FBI} (by this time after 1967, Ford was building them & very little Mustangs were done/built by Shelby American anymore) & then sold & maketed as 1970 models, IIRC....

I agree, why wouldn't they drive it back in the day??

I remember back in the '70s of several people buying limited edition vehicles and just placing them in storage for an investment. Then you had a lot of guys who bought "cars of interest" in the sixties and seventies, went to war to never return. A lot of those vehicles were stored and didn't resurface untill years later. I'm sure there are still plenty out there...

So to prevent this from happening to Cranium, because he's 105 and can not show up for breakfast any minute now, I propose he puts the 68 hemi Charger in a trust and naming me as the trustee. It's the least I can do for a MoPar brother. No need to thank me.

Since there was no one to get the car I guess the state gets all the money. What a waste. Would love to have the car, I do like the blue ovals too.

No, RC/DH he needs to name me as the trustee/executer receiver...LOL...

i'm calling B.S. on the 8500 original miles. take a look at all the oil on that motor.

You will probally be in there like a dirty **** when it comes to auction time richard you will need two bags of money for this one it would look great sitting beside that hemi

Put a clear coat over all that dust and call it good. Seems all the rage these days to 'preserve patina'... Not that there's anything wrong with that.

In life you never really truly own anything. I would imagine that this guy worshiped and worried about this car where he was concerned about washing it. It would of been more enjoyable to drive it, feel the engine rumble, smell the exhaust opposed to it being a garage queen...its sad this the owner never enjoyed the true essence of this awesome car. Neat car

My thoughts exactly ga66. Use it up; wear it out; make it do; or do without.

So your a furd nut now? What's next you start posting about model T's? why don't you take the buttstang out on a date why don't ya? lmao :laughing6:

Or this just another bait thread to catch all the furd loving guys who pretend to be mopar enthusiast? lmao :frog:

There are plenty of cool Fords (and I have one) and I wouldn't turn down this Shelby if I could afford it!! This thing may set a new price record.

East Bay Muscle car out here in Brentwood did one for an older guy $90k when it was done and it looked like ellenor. Lots of cool beans too but I don't make threads about them here lol
