Noticing a rapid decline in parts interest?

We had more people in one city in South Carolina than all of the state of Vermont. I like my odds. My wife an I are going to drive up into Canada for the day on Friday or Saturday and I plan on having a great day. Our son took his friends on a weekend up in Montreal last fall and they had an excellent time. Lol, I had to scroll back up just now to see what this highjacked thread was about. Yes, e-bay sucks, but I didn't know Facebook had a page like that, I will be checking that out. Thanks for the link, whomever that was.

Hot Tip: Searching ebay put "-f" after your search criteria, example: 1971 charger -f
This will remove all those stupid listings of fits this or that, just happened to figure that out.

I can't speak for the rest of the market but I spent a lot of money on ebay the last few years along with leaving a pretty penny at carlisle. Now that my project 71 charger is pretty much complete the need for parts just isn't there.

I don't see the facebook link, it sounds like a good idea, I would like to check it out...

I have been screwed a few times on ebay, both sides of the fence though, as a seller you are going to get fucked once and a while, with the new rules as a buyer you can not lose.

I had a few service manuals listed to cars I no longer own and will never own again, my manual shelf was too full and I started putting some on the floor so I figured time to clean through some and turn them into money. So I get a 'best offer" on one (of course it was a cutlass, I could picture the buyer and his leather jacket with zippers on the sleeves, lol), the book was listed at $40 (half of the lowest one I found on ebay), he offered $5, lol.. So I declined and countered with $30, he emailed me saying it was used and only worth $5 and he wont pay more than that, and he will buy another one locally for $10, and some other BS.. I replied that the shipping will cost more than $5 and I would rather keep it than pay to get rid of it...

So someone uses buy it now with no offer in the mean time and its sold, he emails me pissed off sayng I took too long, and screwed him... Then he buys 2 of my auctions, large items, a compressor pump and a 2x4 sbc intake manifold... I was a bit confused but sent them, shipping was something like $165.
About 2 weeks later i get 2 negatives and ebay emails me to tell me I have to take the items back, I was charged $209 to ship them back to me, and they refunded him the complete total including the shipping charges!!! So he screwed me over $350 just in shipping!!! He did this in spite, he didn't need them parts, he did it to screw me, he knew ebay would side with him if he said they were not as described and he didn't want them. The intake came back with a corner smashed off of it and the compressor had the mounting taps all knocked off of it... SO that one douche cost me a $320 compressor a $200 intake and $350+ in shipping, almost $1000!!! I saved his name and address, some day if the doctors ever tell me I have 30 days left, that ************* has 29, that list is actually a couple pages long now, I'll have a notebook full if I live a lot longer, lol...

You can block bidders from buying your parts on eBay if that helps, Seventy.

Yes, I contacted ebay and they suspended his ebay account but he only had 30 feedbacks, they also took the 2 negatives away from my account (I have over 1000 positives), I had to file a police report in his home town and the cop I spoke to actually knew him, and said he was scum bag in the community, they went and talked to him and he said the items arrived that way, and the cop told me there is nothing they can do, but at least now he wont do it to someone else, what ever that is worth...

Ebay refunded all the fees I occurred through them and paypal, then they gave me a few coupons and a discount on listing items for a while, but I am still out the money, I would love to run into this guy, and take him apart for a few minutes...

As all of you know, I sell and make fiberglass parts. I find that ebag is a good advertising tool and have been using only ebay for the last 4-5 years. When I have a scoop on ebag , you read the auction and find out that I make all the 62-68 s/s race car parts. That alone keeps my guys busy through out the year. I donated some 64 Dodge parts to a magazine and they mentioned my company and phone number in the article , and that not only got me slammed with orders all at one time but I found the true colors of some of my clients when they didn't understand about the delays that come with normal operations, let alone getting slammed with orders all at one time. Swap meets aren't what they used to be either, and I use them as an advertising tool also. As for the Mopar Nationals this year, I came home with only 4 parts in the trailer. That was a shocker. People will talk at the swap meet and order over the phone. All in all , from my point of view, things have changed with the way that people buy parts.

Tried that Steve. It doesn't work for me. It takes out almost everything. I had 4 items, then adding a 19 in front of 73-74 it took out different items. There is no way around it.
